What's the strangest drug you've ever found on the internet ? And I don't just mean analogs. I'm talking about something like a dissociative psychedelic opiate. Have you ever found anything like that ?

Does it have to only be on the internet?

And what do you mean by "strange"? Like strange as in "wow, I never expected anyone to use that to get high" or strange as in effects? Or strange as in chemical structure?

DXM is probably the strangest drug I've ever personally done. It's got dissociative/psychedelic properties & it's chemical structure is similar to that of an opioid (it's the d-isomer of levorphanol actually), though it doesn't really possess any opioid activity. In high enough doses it can cause out of body experiences, near-death-like experiences and I truly believe it even has some sort of paranormal or supernatural component to it (but that's a long story).

Some of my old DXM trips completely rivaled any mushroom or acid trips I've taken. But it's got a lot of physical side effects & I don't think I'd be able to handle it anymore at my age. It's not as visual as LSD or anything though. The trip is mostly an "internal" trip, if that makes sense. Although there are some hallucinations.

When I was 27, I went on a 900mg extended release DXM trip & smoked some weed at the peak. I suddenly felt like I was outside of my body & that I was watching my life play out as a movie that was about to end. I thought for sure I was going to die (thought I had accidentally taken too much or that an organ was shutting down). I basically laid on my couch next to my mom thinking I was done for & dying. But eventually I took a klonopin & started to come back to reality. The next day I was very much grateful that I was still alive.

What's strange to me is that something this powerful is available all over the store shelves, but I can't legally walk into a store & buy some opiates? Pfft.

One of funniest listed side-effects of a prescription medication can be seen with RLS drugs, like ropinirole: compulsive gambling.

There have been case reports of individuals with no history of gambling issues develop full on gambling problems when taking this class of drug.

I bet that it would also be bad for anyone who has an addiction.

Yeah that's what I thought too when hearing about that side-effect years ago, but interestingly, the prescribing monograph doesn't mention anything about increased drug abuse.

It's seems to be more about activities that indirectly release dopamine, like gambling, sex, spending money, rather than drugs themselves.

DXM is such a weird drug. An opioid (by structure) for coughing (traditionally treated by mu agonists), with no mu opioid activity (in the d isomer at least). It's got contradictions baked into it.

In terms of its pharmacology, it hits the mysterious sigma 1 receptor, which seems to pop up in some of the most popular drugs of abuse (it helps tune calcium release that is subsequent to other receptor activation), and I think it's understudied. Weird receptor as well, lacking homology to other common receptor types (like ion channels, gpcrs, and steroid receptors).

If it weren't for its SNRI effects I'd rank it up with ketamine (or better as it's orally active). I get a weird nausea/stomach unrest with drugs that raise serotonin (even cocaine is more unsettling than other stimulants) and I feel like rolling is a coin flip to whether I puke.

i wasn't really sure what i was expecting to get when smoking salvia, but that stuff is probably the weirdest of experiences i've had. like in a way it just seems like cliche psychedelic cartoony stuff, but there is some body effects too that is just super weird feeling, that with the visuals and ego loss. i dunno. total wtf stuff.

hitting nitrous on shrooms was kind of the same with out intense bad body load of salvia. not really the same with ego loss imo either.

i think salvia and nitrous are both dissociative drugs, but maybe different kinds? nitrous has no psychedelic edge imo unless i'm on psychedelics, but salvia experience kind of goes along with what psychedelic is.. i think like low dose lsd or shrooms, drugs like that have some potential for people to not feel so strange, maybe just upbeat and light visuals. not really the strangest thing, but taking high dose of any psychedelic has potential to get really weird.

salvia is also a strange drug cause supposedly trip killers like anti-psychotics won't stop it from working.

^^^Yeah, again, that is an experimental drug that likely no human has ever sampled (nor would want to sample due to strong KOR agonism). I wouldn't even refer to it as a "drug" in the traditional sense because it is only for experimental purposes and humans will never use it, ever.

But in terms of weird drugs with a similarish mechanism of action to BU72, a weird "actual drug" that I've done alot of is butorphanol. It is used widely in veterinary medicine, so back when I was a vet tech i had easy access to it. I also used to drive down to mexico to buy it, since the veterinary pharmacies sell it openly. I would use intravenously. A very weird drug, its like the dipropyltrypramine (DPT) of opioids. The KOR activity gave it this weird creepy vibe; it made lights appear dimmer then they were, had a generally spooky feel to it, like you are in a horror film. I actually kind of liked it (obviously I liked it enough to buy it in Mexico, but it was pretty much the only opioid sold openly other than tramadol, although I didnt drive down there only for butorphanol).

Any form of dissociative is weird. Deliriants even weirder. For a regular benzo, lorazepam is pretty weird.

Datara fascinates me although i have taken dramamine and no sir i do not recommend at all lol. My friend took Datura and thought she as trapped in a painting for 2 days lol.

I hae had scopolamine mixed with northern lights and things got weird for abit
