Stopping smoking :(

Ugh. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I've had to clear the house of all weed, paraphernalia etc. Looks like I'll be takin a break. So, I ate my last 2 grams of northern lights and made cannabutter on toast. At least I'll get some sleep tonight before a week of insomnia.

Mmm if I am thinking correctly, very sorry to hear about that oogie. Hope you end up alright.

Lossing your plants is a rotten feeling, have had many experiences unfortuanly, and most likely more to come:!:X
 
For sleep, check out google. i know a few people who have used weed as a sleep aid, which in the short term is good compared to other drugs, but i feel (like _any_ other drug) is a bad LONG term solution (unless have other long term problems...)...

Like the OP, i am a pretty bad sleeper in general - but i hav read/watched alot about improving ur sleep). It takes alot, as my mind is always on.. First aid i use to sleep is a mask! I used to be really bad with light/seeing through my eyelids and this helped alot. Its also a 'trigger' - like weed was - a trigger that your body will get to know as 'sleep time'.
Other sleep advice:
- Earplugs (if u can tolerate them). As above.
- Dont lie in bed for hours. if u cant sleep, get up and have a cup of tea, watch some tv (dont procastinate) and then go back to bed with a clear mind.
- Only use your bed for sleep. dont read or study in it. This makes your bed another sleep 'trigger'.
- Keep your room clean and tidy - make it a nice place - candles and smells can help.
- If u have something on ur mind, get up and write it down and then file it away for the morning. Just commit yourself to writing any thoughts down and be done with them.
- In bed, start with your feet and work ur way up your body, tensing EVERY SINGLE MUSCLE you can. Hold each for about 20seconds, and work ur way up, targeting different groups. After 10minutes, stop.
- A bath bfore bed can help. It brings ur body temp up and then when u get into bed your body temp will come down. this reduction will help trigger sleep.
- Dont oversleep. In the morning, dont sleepin if u miss alot of sleep. Keep to a single sleep pattern for best results. If u have gone a week with bad sleeping, there is a technique of waking yourslf up early every morning, and then resetting ur sleep pattern. Google this if all else fails!

Also echoing the above comments. Treat weed like alcohol (dont just use it as an arguement for legalisation!~) Being drunk everyday is no way to live.. Try not to smoke in a constant pattern. The first thing i learnt when weed opened my mind was our body is all about triggers, patterns, and routine. We unconciously program ourselves to be stoners just as other people become atheletes, mathematicians and policitians..!


yeeaa i mean about the whole writing things down thing, i coodnt go to sleep the other nite untill id done this.

thanks for all this advice tho, ive been working on clearing parts of my bedroom cz its full of toot! but im getting there with it...planning on clearing out my paperwork box tho...erghh too much in there! bank statements, letters, etc..
but it is nice to have somewhere proper to relax

Sounds like you have a very fast metabolism, just like I had while smoking. Sugars and especially caffeine will affect you alot. Drink water during the day and heaps of milk before you sleep. While smoking I found that I never had enough fluids I firmly believe this was a a big factor for keeping me lean and especially coca cola.

yeaa i totes know what you mean about coca cola! lmao and yea i think i do, i mean ive always been skinny and always eat loads, and after 2 weeks of not smoking ive got an appetite again!!!

lol and i cant remember who it was, but whoever suggested valarian root tea is an angel

bought some the other day £1.60 for a box and works like a charm. in fact my eyes are heavier than a ten ton elephant at the moment so will have to turn in


seriously though, thank you guys so much for all the tips etc and i hope people with similar problems can read and gain from it as well. never thought id need so much advice for such a simple thing as sleeping!

echinicia and vitamin c ,with 3 meals a day,should do the job nicely,and breath as much air as you can kause fresh air is refreshing lmfao ,pat urself on the back and count the money u saved,buy urself that red bike that ur parents diddnt get you when you were 6,and ul be somewhat satisfied withurself

also, didnt realise that the active stuff in valarian root is the same in catnip...my lazy lethargic and laid back cat went absolutely mental on it when he found some teabags in my bag...

had a bit of a messy mcat night at my bfs with a few mates on friday night...ended with pulling all the cushions quilts and shit from sofas and beds and making the most amazing bed on the living room floor and messy pictures galore, but even when feeling shit afterwards and being offered a gazillion times, i still said no!

well proud :) i mean i sed i cood smoke on come downs but thort it was pretty silly to do it if i didnt need to and im only 2 weeks in..and i dont want to start temptations!

that does sound rather odd. im ALWAYS eating and ALWAYS hungry because of how much i smoke, and beleive it or not, im in great shape for how much i smoke. i think it also has to do with your metabolism

even faster now i think, and im finding it rather difficult to put on weight

i went from eating sometimes a proper meal a day to snacks or whatever i could force myself to eat to now eating 3 meals a day...ive kept this up for 2 weeks and i managed to put on 3 lbs :)

then lost one..
and stayed at 7 st 8 lbs ever since...
arghh

just needs to eat little and often i think and lots of complex carbs and protein
didnt realise how much harder it was for people to put on weight rather than losing it

all you need is willpower with losing weight really, but putting on wieght, ive go the willpower but it still doesnt seem to be enough!

just need to keep at it, and exercise as well to build up muscle and so i can keep my flat belly!

still havent gained any weight since 17th.

really starting to bug me! ive tried so hard to make myself eat 3 meals a day etc and it just doesnt feel like any of its made a difference

apparently my metabolisms too fast and id need to overeat in order to put on weight. argh and i ill again. i bought vitamins the other day tho and im taking them everyday. hopefully that will do something...

NOT true.. This is not true for everybody, besides maybe the health issues from smoking anything. Ppl who tend to be lazy and worthless when stoned tend to be lazy sober too. It excacerbates your personality and behavior--I'm not lazy myself, and when I smoke I feel more motivated.

Also, it could just be cause you're smoking an indica

i always tried to get sativa buds where i could, i preferred the high

kinda difficult back home, but amsterdam was HEAAAVVEN

white dolphin ftw...

ive still been good tho, still not one toke in 3 weeks :D
