I understand that, or at least I hope he wasn't. I just assumed that he was being sarcastic about a general idea which isn't necessarily a bad one. A more practical and civil approach to what he's talking about isn't exactly a new idea: the idea of wresting influence away from the "idiots", of phasing them out politically so that their opinions don't have the power to affect the national and international policies of the world.

If that's what he was talking about, my question still stands. Who can rightfully decide whose opinion counts? You'd think that out of 6 billion people, at least one of them would be capable of making decisions for the betterment of mankind.

Except the difference would be that I would keep people based on intelligence and their potential to benefit the progression of the human species, and not some petty shit such as race.

Yes, we can slowly wrestle the power from idiots, but that's not exciting. Plus, the ones who generally think for the health of the overall society tend to be pussies, so why not something so drastic to fuck with everyone's perceptions of such people? Ha.

I would probably like a blind global vote of what is right and what is wrong, and based on a tally system, we calculate individual accounts of their right and wrong actions that come up publically. Thus we need investigations into justice, and then the hand of justice to physically carry out what we believe to be wrong.

But then again I do believe I would make a good dictator. I would go against the general rule of thumb that dictators must be oppressive, and instead use my god-like power to create good and balance in society. Once again, fuck with perceptions. This would probably take some hardcore two-facing on my part, as people who get into dictatorial roles tend to be ruthless aggressors. In a way, I suppose I'd be like Castro. A pussy monarch that puts all his power into socialism.

Of course, I was being extreme and somewhat sarcastic when I said "kill em all", when really we could just throw them all in Australia without technology or something.

SR, all power is corrupting. Don't assume anything about how you'd be as a dictator. There are so many internal and external influences/forces in such a position, that even the most pure of us would have to compromise their purity in order to simply survive/stay in that position for long enough to make a difference and that corruption would naturally snowball trying to cover itself up until you don't even remember your original values and you've only become the same mechanism as anybody in such a position in history.


There is no fast blanket solution to social stupidity. We, in the west, are living in one of the most decadent of ages, and as history has shown, ages such as these inevitably end. Usually by force, but with current technological levels, we may end up destroying ourselves in trying to prevent others from destroying us.

war, what is it good for? well, in a society where we are progressively getting further sheltered from discomfort, let alone pain, let alone death, it can be good for very much. With no threat to our comfort, our health or our lives, how do we value life?
blow us up. perhaps then we'd stop taking everything for granted.

Ive seen people very close to me who have been through that much shit, been to hell and back, been fucked over time and time again and still have hope in people and try to see the best in everything. I look at them and it amazes me the view they have on the world after what they have seen. For that reason i am forever trying to see the best in everything & everyone.
