Stop bashing cops

What are you talking about, DexMeth, cops (especially ones that sit in parking lots like stalkers waiting for people to write tickets to), are real troopers. I'm sure all they do is dream about the golden days where they were the star athlete of "Flatpoint High," and sure they may be so fucking fat they can't even pull the fucking trigger. BUT THEY'RE AMERICAN HEROES!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, so what if the easiest major to graduate from is criminal justice, that only proves what Nosey McBastard Idiot Hosebeasts the police academy is. So YOU stfu!
 
Perhaps its a bit different here in the UK, but the majority of police I've talked to, either in a friendly "I'm off duty" way or "Excuse me, can I ask you some questions" way have been pretty down to earth and relaxed. Provided you just chat in a calm way without any kind of attitude, they treat you with respect.

Some will initially be a bit distainful of you if the situation is a bit dubious (like you're at a large music event) but provided you are cooperative then they soon lose that :)

you dont know shit. The people that become cops. I know them. And they're just the people in middle/high-school/college that no one gave a fuck about..and they're all insecure and have mental issues. I even meant one in Rehab, that tried to commit suicide twice. They just want to be on top with power and fuck with peoplel, and eventually get brainwashed enough to think what they are doing is all good, even to the innocents.

The police are here to protect the community no matter what way you look at it, of course there are some corrupt ones but generally the police want to help and uphold some set of standards within society.

I live in Northern Ireland where the police don't really get respect, in many catholics eyes the PSNI as their now called are still the same RUC secatarians they always were. But the police are out to help the community, a few weeks around here the police raided a house where they suspected stolen goods would be found, the youths in the estate petrol and paint bombed them, stolen goods were found there.

I guess i dont know shit. Cept for all the numerous times i've ran into cops, been polite as fuck and treated like scum. This is of coarse comming from my own experiences/point of view. Plus seeing this ONE girl in rehab that wants to be a cop when she gets out...If she ever tried to write me a ticket or hassel me for just sitting in a part and relaxing, with no drugs on me and not even being stoned, i swear to god. whatever....you guys made some good points....but i still dont give a shit.

Once these 2 cops caught us somewhere we shouldn't have been, 1 was male, 1 female, after taking our names she went away to check if we were who we said we were, while she was gone the other one started giving us all this shit about how you shouldn't be here and what are you doing at school, why don't you get yourself a job? we all had jobs and went to school..total wanker, the thing was we had over a 1/4 of weed on us between me and a friend.

Ok, I usually agree with most of your posts, I have lots of respect for you.....but not this one :\ You are lumping all cops into one category, and this is just not true.

I know many cops, I have many who are very good friends. In no way are they power hungry insecure dickheads who want to commit suicide....or just want to fuck with people.

They are just doing their jobs, like every other John Doe in America. Unfortunately, the cops in America are on the front lines of a war (the war on drugs) that is completely fucking failing. But guess what? they still have to do their jobs.

People like you and me, who LIKE to use drugs, tend to "hate" cops because they threaten us.

Yes, there are cops who are complete idiotic power hungry dickheads. There are lawyers who are money hungry scum of the earth pricks.
There are doctors who need to have their medical license revoked, because they are complete fucking IDIOTS.
There are drug users that are so fucking STUPID, I sometimes find myself thinking that euthanasia is probably the most humane thing for them. (just kidding) LOL

The point I'm trying to make is, cops are human...just like the rest of us.

Don't hate the cops who enforce the law. Hate the closed minded politicians who MAKE these ludricrous laws....and VOTE!!

1. Had you of read the thread, you would have realised that i said: dont attack someone for the way they speak. and you were downright rude and abusive.

Couldn't really be arsed reading all 11 pages of this, but here's my input.

I've never had to deal with the police on anything serious. Traffic infringements, getting chastised for being wasted, a few statements, etc.


In Australia, an unfortunately high percentage of police are complete arseholes...

Why are cops arseholes? Take a person, who in most cases, didn't really succeed a great deal in their life - I know quite a few people who have joined the force - genius isn't a word I'd use to describe them. Joining the police force is so very often a second (or third, or last) option for people. Quite seriously, I wonder whether most of the police officers I've met have an IQ over 100.

Get a collection of relatively unintelligent people, give them far more power than they deserve, and woah, you've got a pack of monkey-brained fools on a power trip.

Obviously, we need some sort of law enforcement. Without it, well....

However, you can't expect people to respect the law, unless they respect those who enforce it. Subsequently, we have set laws, and to varying degrees, the majority of society chooses to in some way disobey these laws. Why? Because we all have a massive degree of faith in the fact that the vast majority of those who are enforcing these laws are completely incapable of doing so effectively.

I lost 3/4 of the demerit points on my license, and $150(ish) for driving 50 feet without a seatbelt on. Police like this, because its revenue. I was polite to the officers, tried to explain my situation, and was still treated like shit. The officers were rude, abrupt, and unwilling to discuss the situation. The only possible reason I could see for this kind of treatment is jealousy. Somehow, I think these police could be doing something a little more important.

Yet, there's street hookers walking around in broad daylight (20-30 in a square kilometre), that the police do little about. I don't see police presence where its necessary - violent areas, etc. Yet they're everywhere on the road, because its profitable.

Respect is something I will never have for police officers. Its unfortunate, as there are officers out there who do their job, and do it well. However, there's far too may fuckwits out there who ruin it for the good ones.

It isn't just the police either, its the legal system, and predominantly, those who control it. Its getting worse, not better.

As far as I'm concerned, I spit in the face of the legal and judicial systems in Australia. They're soft on real criminals, and treat normal people like shit. I have zero respect for our police, judges, and officials, and am sadly watching this country go down the toilet at the hands of these people.
 
Dextermeth, so you met ONE person in rehab that wants ot bne a cop, and you've been in a confrontation with cops a handful of cops, so OBVIOUSLY all cops are like hte ones you ran into and OBVIOUSLY all people in rehab want to be cops. awesome.

Also, I didn't attack her grammr, I merely said that the that said piolice represent brutality and whatever else he said wasnt his opinion, he was triying to state it off as fact, while she was saying it was his opinion which was fuckin wrong. I also told her to shut the fuck up, like she did to me. ( Don't remember the third point). Gah.

I didnt tell you to shut the fuck up because i dont care enough to say that. that wasnt directed at you number one and two, i didnt say "shut the fuck up" what i said has a different meaning and that is "yall are talking and talkin but nobodys listening to how stupid they sound saying whats tru for them is also true for everybody else.

"talk about shuttin the fuck up" means somethin alot different than what you took it as. you need to chill the fuck out man, cuz you gonna have a heart attack if you dont start respecting that everybody can have a opinion, without gettin mad @ the fact that ppl dont agree with you.

also because i dont care what you think and you aint gonna change peoples minds. the difference between me and you here if somebody changes their mind from reading something i said thats good but if they dont it aint my problem. somebody dont see eye to eye with you, you gotta stop treating this like somebody pissed on your dads grave and realize its just a fuckin discussion on a message board yo
