I really don't hope that you consider Germany as "anal country" but Modafinil was for some mysterious reason banned until one month ago over there...Schedule I of german anti-drug-law. Thankfully, it was but isn't anymore.

holly crap, i am from there (used to be, anyway...) and they are pretty anal. Lived in SH near hamburg.
They are pretty anal about anything but antibiotics. Go into the doctors office with a simple flu, and walk out with three (okay... maybe two) perscriptions. They bombard the simplest stuff with antibiotics, and due to that fact i have antibiotic resistance to a certain type of medication. So if i ever get any infections that require antibiotics, things will get MIGHTY complicated.

„Amfetaminil", „Butobarbital", „Cyclobarbital", „Fencamfamin", „Mazindol", „Mefenorex", „Meprobamat", „Metamfetamin", „Methaqualon", „Methyprylon", „Modafinil", „Phenmetrazin", „Secbutabarbital" and „Vinylbital" were taken out of appendix II.
Thanks, that reference helps indeed. However, the above quote is not quite correct. These compounds were actually taken out of Appendix III, and all of them except Modafinil, inserted in Appendix II. So Modafinil is the only compound that became "unscheduled". Worth mentioning is also that Salvia divinorum and BZP are now controlled substances in "anal Germany".

Unfortunately, you're perfectly right. Except for the "anal" part.:p
