Ill try to make it short: Basically I've always known I had adhd but my mom thought it wasn't a real disorder so I wasn't allowed to see a doctor for it even though I had tried out a friends adderrall by chance and it worked so well..when I was 18 I went to a few doctors but none would prescribe adderrall so I gave up...forward 8 years later I abused various stimulants pretty regular for 2 years...then I finally...after moving to another state found a doctor who prescribed adderrall...I hadn't done any drugs in a month or so and got no effect from like 100mg adderall!?? Also before I abused stims I was so sensitive to caffeine...super super sensitive but now I can pound like 2 redbulls in 5 min and it doesn't do shit it actually makes me tired!...am I screwed???? Will I ever be able to benefit from the med? If only the damn doctor gave me adderrall before I wouldn't be in this predictamint...I've tried a few weeks taking tyrosine regulary but it didn't seem to change anything...help!!

Neurotoxic damage to emitters of various chemicals in your brain such as dopamine etc and the reuptake points of these chemicals can lead to a deadened effect of external chemicals having effect on the reward and pleasure center of your brain. If you are using other drugs it can possibly inhibit the effects of Adderall. To think that you may be screwed up is too early and too drastic. Simply put it may have been amphetamine before and this time it.was dextroamphetamine and it affects you differently. Put simply man only testing will determine the truth but question why you need Adderall... I abuse dope so no room for me, also I too have add/adhd and was prescribed Adderall for 11 years. I stopped at 16 cause you really don't need it. Just food for thought.

This is the exact reason i vowed yesterday to stop ALL stimulant use for along while. If it aint gettin you high or helping you do what ya gotta do wtf is the point? But i suggest maybe chewing 3 or 4 tums next time you dose your adderall. Or baking soda. This will reduce the acid in your stomach and you will get more outta your drugs.

Just food for thought.
Some more food for thought:
- Why are you blaming the doctors for your own choices and behavior?
- It is normal to feel tired if you use too much cafeine; this is especially common in people with ADD/ADHD.
- Why are you taking 100 mgs of Adderall? That hardly sounds like a dosage that is normally prescribed.
- Do you realise you are taking Adderall to help you focus and keep your attention on what you're doing, not to feel fucked up the whole day?
- One month is usually not enough to get past tolerance.

Taking baking soda is definitely a fucking stupid idea, especially in combination with stimulants. :\

At the doses he is taking. ya thats a bad idea. Sorry i should have said to lower the dose also.
Perhaps better to not mention the baking soda at all. ;)
Just a cheap OTC antacid will do, although my personal opinion on the benefits is rather sceptical, and it is not advisable anyway since it is generally a bad idea to play around with your stomach pH too much. Might lead to some serious health issues after prolonged continuation.

Its your tolerance..give it 6 months then you can likely get desired effects

Same thing happened with me with rock and methamphetamine..they stopped working so i stopped using them..havent fucked with them in 4 months and i dont plan on fuckin with them anymore..theres better things to do with my time

It has been proven that a high number of people with adhd that are not treated will abuse drugs in a way to 'self-treat' their condition which i believe I was doing.
i didnt feel tired on caffeine in the past.
i didn't start out taking 100mg.. i would take 10mg.. not feel anything.. add 20mg next day.. not feel it. until i went up to 100mg and realized it was pointless. It is very discouraging.. I want to stop all street drugs and just treat my severe inattentive type adhd appropriately. and i don't want to feel fkd up from it.. i just want to feel motivated like i did before and im just wondering if there is any hope to gain back the theuraputic benefits from it again if i abstain.
what is the appropriate l-tyrosine dosaging to help with this issue?

Add/adhd patients treated with stimulants should not feel extra energy or motivation because of the drugs. Just increased focus and longer attention span as I have heard from Drs and read from journals.

If you have before felt more motivated or got extra energy from stimulants maybe you are not suffering add/adhd. In fact minor stimulant withdrawals or other drug use may cause false positives in test that are taken to diagnose add/adhd.

stimulant tolerance grows for me faster than other drug...i started off railing 1-5mgs, the next day 10mgs, the next 15, the next 20mgs, the next i was eating 20 and railing 10mgs, ect.. ect.. got up to 60mgs a day and was like fuck this after a month and stopped for a couple months, and i came across the little orange tablet again and i was like yes!! took 20mgs and had a good speedy day...now my tolerance is around 10-30mgs depending on the effects i want, except i dont have ADD so i get euphoria, increased sociability, increased confidence, ect...

What exactly is the point of this post in this thread? :\

This could well be the case. However, self-medication usually takes the form of someone using a particular substance and then noticing a change in their condition, after which they continue to use said substance. In your case (although I do believe you are not alone in this) you diagnosed yourself with ADHD and started taking stimulants after disallowed by your mother to visit the doctor. This probably greatly reinforces any type of placebo-effect (you are taking the cure you've been trying to get prescribed for a long time), plus most people will report increased focus on a normal dose of Adderall.

Besides people diagnosed with ADHD self-medicating, there is also the morbid brain development of people abusing stimulants at the age you were doing. These people are significantly more prone to substance abuse in general, but also tend to 'condone' their own substance abuse by reasoning such as the kind you display (not saying you are talking quack, but it fits the stereotype). They are also the kind of people that want benzo's for every bit of anxiety and opiates for every kind of pain; they generally want to medicate everything with class A or B drugs. (As opposed to taking acetaminophen or ibuprofen, or just try to relax when feeling a bit anxious)

Lastly, your complaint of 'not feeling anything' is not really indicating you know what to expect either. You should not really feel anything when taking an appropriate dose of Adderall as to medicate ADHD. You should just feel more relaxed (not so hyped up) and being able to focus your attention better than without. Taking a double dose after just trying the initial dose for 1 day (and I assume this is without discussing it with your doctor first) also fits the stereotype that results of teenage/early adulthood stimulant abuse.

Then there is also the questionable case of you going 'doctor shopping' and not being able to find a doctor that would prescribe Adderall. Just makes me wonder if they did prescribe an alternative, or they just did not diagnose you with ADHD? The fact that it took you about 8 years to find a doctor willing to prescribe you with Adderall might say more about the quality of your self-diagnostic procedure than about the quality of general healthcare in America. And again, it fits the stereotype that you were only interested in getting a prescription for Adderall and not for any other medication.
