America, f**k yeah!
hey, so some of yall know about me trying meth a few weeks ago and flipping out and thinking i was dying. i'm still feeling weird (headaches, anxiety, seeing spots/floaters, and my heart rate will speed up [not over like 100 bpm, so not too fast]) but it's all slowly subsiding. i've pretty much quit smoking cigarettes (i'll have maybe one or two a day, used to be almost a pack) and have cut back on weed, but tonight i feel like getting DRUNK. well, really, this whole weekend (only because it's a celebration, and mexicans like to party). I just want to know if i'll be okay to drink (it doesnt take much for me to get drunk, it'll probably only be a 2-3 margaritas, maybe 4). I just don't wanna drop dead. I know to go to the hospital if it gets bad, but i dont want to deal with hospitals if i dont have to. is my anxiety just getting in the way? or should i stop after like one? or should i drink like a bottle of water in between each margarita? or any other tips? I just fucking hate hospitals. i also took my ativan (1mg) about three hours ago, and have eaten a meal since then.

I'm don't think it would bring back mental withdrawal symptoms, but you might fiend really hard for some meth while drunk.

Edit: And no I don't see any physical conflicts that could be caused by drinking alcohol while in meth withdrawal. It's all about your mind-set, mind over matter.

is this still considered withdrawal? it's been almost three weeks. im just worried about it making my heart rate shoot up crazy high. does alcohol do that? like i said, i rarely drink. i thought it was a depressant, but i also read somewhere it lowers your blood pressure, therefore raising your heart rate.

what exactly will happen?

Edit: I mean, considering I took the 1mg of Ativan almost seven hours ago, and I'm taking it slow on the drinking. The half-life of Lorazepam is 10-20 hours. I don't think, at this point, I have much to worry about in that respect.

possible respiratory depression, which is basically the opposite of the dangers of stim abuse lol (which is heart attacks, strokes etc. from ur system going crazy fast)

benzos are a sedative, alcohol is to.

benzo's alone have a very low chance of OD, because there ld50 is really high, but combined alcohol and it's actually super easy to od, and just stop breathing. 3 or 4 drinks with water in between, over the course of the night should be fine though. Listen to your body.

the ld50 of benzos is something like 1000x the therapuetic dose if i remember right, you have a better chance of taking like 10mg xanax (if benzo naive), and winding up dead or in jail because you blacked out and did something really stupid, but if you were locked up in a room with no sharp edges and no weapons or anything, and took 50mg xanax, you would likely live.

Mixing tranquilizers with alcohol?
Haven't seen, read or heard of many positive experiences. (but that is just me)

Below is a quote from the package insert for Ativan 1mg tabs for an "official" answer to your query.

"Patients should be advised that since their tolerance for alcohol and other central nervous system depressants will be diminished in the presence of ATIVAN , these substances should either be avoided or taken in reduced dosage."

Please take care.

true but at the same time it says that on just about every drug out their lol, just to save the companies ass. It's okay to mix low doses of benzo's and alcohol, as long as one has prior experience with both, and is careful. Of course, taking it slowly and listening to your body, rather than popping a full zbar and drinking a 1/5th of liqour or something lol.

i have benzo experience and some alcohol experience. i had a cigarette like an hour ago, and my heart is still a little fast, but im attributing that to me and my girlfriend being in a little spat. i've stopped drinking for the night, took a .5mg ativan, and am waiting for it to kick in.

Glad to see you are ok.
Good luck with the girlfriend....... haven't seen any "package inserts" for them yet. ;)
