Staudri's Pregnancy & Birth thread.. Welcome Elijah Travis! UPDATE - New pics p.10

It's A Boy!

Elijah Travis was born at 10:47 a.m. on May 27th. He weighed 7 pounds and 7 ounces.

We think 7 is his lucky number! :D

Audrey had her water broken at 7:30 a.m., had one painful hour of contractions, then recieved an epidural. After that her contractions were MUCH easier to deal with and she was dialated to 10cm by 10 o'clock. Five pushes and he was out. It seemed ridiculously easy (she wholeheartedly agrees). He seems very healthy ( a good weight for how thin she was before) and immediately had the reflex to suckle. He has blond hair. He also had really long fingernails, which freaked me out! But I'm sure he will be quite adorable. He kind of reminded me of a new puppy, tiny squishy nose and eyes squinched shut. :)

Anyway, it went exceptionally smoothly. Mama and baby will be coming home on Saturday. She is eating and moving around, so she seems to be well herself. I don't know what else to add, I'm very tired myself and am going to hit the couch. Just thought I'd send an update.
 
Oh wow, that gave me the biggest smile :) You have no idea how much i needed good news this afternoon.....

I am so happy for you Audrey. My mother once told me that no happiness could compare to the day I, her first and only child, was born. I am confident you are experiencing the same joy. It is wonderful to hear how easy the process of actually birthing your son went.
