STARSCAPE - Saturday, Sept. 27th 2003 - Baltimore, MD

Must say that while I've been outta the loop a long, long time - this party was awesome! The only real drawbacks were that I was babysitting 3 grumpy non-bl'ers and I didn't get to spend more time with you all. Well...that and all the old friends who couldn't attend. You know who you are.

It was sooo good to see Squeaks, Buzzy, Chrissie, Kasper, Christian (happy b-day!), Crowe, Fizzy, Spencer, eGoTrip, Shannon, Frosty Angel...I know I'm forgetting people. Short term memory loss sux.

Anyway, it's so good to be back. :)

Starscape. GOOD PARTY, GREAT FUN!! I honestly don’t remember when I’ve danced so hard. I danced in every single area that me & friends walked into. I mean I was dancing everywhere to every beat, so my body still hurts so bad today. The music wasn’t all that great, but the energy that me & my friends were packing had us stepping to every beat. Plus a continual dosage of mixed margaritas and long island iced tea sucked in helped out tremendously. =D Yep, yep, I got my fuckin alcohol-on that whole day and partying night. It kept my energy to dance & party way up as well as kept my breathe fruity enough to talk to many girls ;) and talk to madd other people throughout the night. So overall the party was good. I however thought there were way too many people just standing around. No one really fucking dancing but I still made the best of it and had a fun time. The vibe was good though, socializing with people about how they were doing and how they were feeling about the party, was good so the vibe was good.
So my friends rolled in early Sat afternoon from NY just after I just got done doing all my planned errands. Then 3 of us drove into the city to pick up the remaining 2 tickets we needed and to buy food & drinks. So anyways we all got ready and got to Starscape at around 7pm. Yeah definitely early for us, but we wanted to just park and chill til the gate opened. Meanwhile we drank, puffed and were loud in the lot. :D Girls were doing their makeup (you know girlie shit), me & my boi just puffing away :| as we watched Blade 2 in the parking lot in the rented caravan with a tv in it, they had. A very first time experience, but non-the-less fun.
Anyways so we partied outside til 10:30 before walking it. The setup for this event I thought was terrible especially when compared to previous Starscapes. Kindof too dark, the laser lights under the tents were very mediocre too (again compared to last previous years), nothing to trip my ass off. The DnB tent was on-point the whole night as well as the sonic soul tent area. The DC Skills area was also tight. However it was a bitch dancing on that area with those rocks & pebbles there. But like I said the music was great in all those areas so that’s where me & friends spent most of our time wildin out at. The hip-hop area was tight too, however there was this one dj there that was SO WACK. He could not every mix between tracks or try to scratch during a track without killing the track. And I did not like the House tent at all. I thought all the djs there were terrible and I was really looking forward to hearing Jimmy Van M. spin. Plus also way too many people standing around in there to even fall into a groove to try to dance.
I did take several pics from the party including of the washed away pier :( (for the memories) and after the whole party was said & done we rolled out at the very end. We got back to my crib, had ourselves a great smoke seccision as we reminisced & laughed at each other from the fun night we had. That was our after-party.
So I didn’t really hangout at the meetup area, I was too much into getting my dance on. But when I did see Jenn (BKR) that was the only time I walked over to the spot. I HAD to say HI to this wild-girl :). great spirit, indeed! It was good seeing you again. I wanted to drag you off and dance with you, but you were in a conversation. But I will party again with you soon. And you were standing next to I think Crow (I remember a pic of you posted up). And then, OH BOY, 8o I spotted the bluelight ladies crew walking and looking all so good. Starlightgemini, DancinXTCangel, TriXieee ;), Bdreligrl. And I purposely winked at you Trixeee cause you looked hot to death in person compared to your pics posted. And don’t get me wrong all you bluelight ladies were definitely on-point with your hottness. I’m just really happy to have met ya, eventhough it was brief, but I had to make it a point to come-up and say HI. Next time I’ll be taking pics for sure!! ;) uumm I also briefly metup with Mr. Jamal (damn dood you a big strong, healthy boi, we're kewl right, no beef, no drama right, hahah, but yeah definitely good seeing you.). I wish more of your crew was there (Icey, Sphreekah, etc.) then I swifly just saw TopRocka walk past. Also saw my man Web. (Web, you are always are in a good mood & high spirits, you have a great spirit). Sorry I missed seeing everyone else and I know there were ALLOT more people there from the names I've been seeing that I didn't meet, but honestly I’m so much more a dancing fool then a social butterfly if you know what I mean. I especially miss seeing you br00klyn. We have got to get our meetup & competition on since you say you’re so good. I’m a see you gurl in 2 weeks at Boo, it’ll be on then. So to everyone I met (briefly or long-term conversations), thanks for my Starscape 2003 memories.
Damn I wrote too much, but fuck-it I have fond memories of this wknd. and seeing you all that I have to write it out

If anyone has pics ready for viewing, please let me know. I had a great time this year and hopefully we can all do it again next year. If there is no starscape 2004, well then we'll just have to arrange to meet at another event. Worse comes to worst, party at my house! Well, actually, I would have to discuss that with AmberEx, since we don't really have alot of space and only 1 guest bedroom........ but we do have a lake in our back yard. Oh well, we'll just plan on another meet up soon. I want to have another drunken balcony party, we really got to know each other a little better.
 
Okay, it's Tuesday afternoon and I think my brain will function long enough for me to give my .02 cents about Starscape, which was absolutely worth all the traffic and long hours of driving that Melissa and I did from MA!! Seriously, it was so good to see old faces that I miss, and meet a ton more people that I've always wanted to get to know! Sorry if I wasn't at the balcony party very long, it was quite the transition to go from 12 hours in a car (f*ck the Geo. Washington bridge!) to 50 BLers drunk as fuck running around the inn. A couple hours sleep, a bowl or two, and I was good to go. Oh and Liz, your infamous quote was "this weekend is NOT for being sober!" Well, at least you're a woman of your word. ;)

Saturday night was nothing short of amazing. Fort Armistead Park is gorgeous, it's a perfect venue for this party. I had no idea! Wow. Much love to Ultraworld for putting the dnb tent next to the grassy knoll again, so that I could bounce around the knoll all night trying (unsuccessfully) to drag tired BLers in there to dance with me. Since when was I the one that wants to dance while nobody else does? It's always been the other way around. So :p to you non-dancers! Brooke, Eric, Marco and his girl, and Todd are the only ones I saw bustin a move, although Liz did make an effort to hop in flipflops after she was forcibly dragged into the dnb tent by moi. All in all, this night was incredible to me though. Gorgeous weather outside (I liked the sprinkling rain), perfect temperature everywhere, a really beautiful location, and some seriously kick-ass people. What more could you want? :)

I might do some shoutouts later tonight when my brain is a little bit more awake, but for now, just know that it was wonderful to see/meet each and every one of you, and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again SOON! I know Kristen is kidnapping Todd/THE WOOD and roadtripping up to Mass. in a month to see DJ Craze and Anabolic Frolic (this should get interesting), so you should all come up here with them. =D Also, I really like the idea of getting together with all of you in a completely rave-free environment. Trust me, it's more fun when you can actually hear what people are saying to you. NYE sounds good to me, after last year's disaster I informed my place of work that hell will freeze over before I work another NYE. So thats not a problem at all.

In closing, I miss you all alot more than I thought I would, and hope we get to do this again soon! <3

hey does anyone know of a website that was at the party that took pics?? I know I saw some of the guys from raversonly.com, but their site is down and has been down for a while, so I'm wondering if theres someother site with pics from starscape. If so please post the site up. THANKS much
 
Well Melissa stopped by at the raversonly tent for a minute and they said there will be pictures up. They also mentioned they are working on the new site and there is a hidden link for that on the old one that he said a lot of people have already found :)

Also, I saw sideshowbob there!! He always takes pictures from all the parties in the area. I don't know if they are up yet but check out sideshowbob.darkravers.net

oh! I almost forgot. I was checking out Buzzlife's board and somewhere on the message board they started a giant thread with all the Starscape pictures. Buzzlife will surely have tons on there (I think that may have been who snuck in and took a picture of a big group of us BL'ers) also they are allowing any member with SS pics to post them there. go to www.buzzlife.com should be easy to find from there :)
 
sideshowbob was a dick to me that night... he was too busy talking to fizzy to say hello when I yelled "SIDESHOW BOB!" at him... fuck sideshowbob.

heh. I've met sideshowbob like a bajillion times but I know he doesn't remember who I am cause he meets tons of people all the time. One of my friends is friends with him so we get our picture taken whenever we go out :) but I felt dumb going up to him and asking him to take pics :( which I really should have because he's a great photographer *sigh*
