Ok hold up I'm confused.

Main stage by the water?? Whaaaat? Last year the "main stage" was out in the front where the cars were all parked in 2001. So uhh I'm lost :\

Heh, who remembers riding a big yellow school bus from the parking area to the front gate?? haha =D Most random thing ever but damn what an EXCELLENT idea. It gave the event TONS more space to work with because instead of all the cars parking right out front they parked a few minutes away and they had buses to get us to the gate.

Anyway...ok someone please clarify what you mean by "main stage by the water" if that is going to be the meetup spot. I know where the "grassy knoll" is cause as it turns out I was sitting there for several hours that night last year but had no idea that was where the BL meetup was. I was a meetup slacker :( NEVER AGAIN!

anyway...i'm all fucking pissed off because my ticket STILL hasn't come in the mail (thanks ticketmaster!) and i've emailed them and have to call them about it tomorrow

i'm gonna be a BITCH!

Re-read what I typed...

It is my opinion that we change the bluelight gathering/chill area this year to someplace around the MAIN STAGE, near the water (works out well for the sunrise) or maybe out on the pier if the music isn't too irritating.

main stage (in the front, near the exit), <OR> near the water (find a good position early for the sunrise gathering) or pier (if there is room and the music is tolerable to everyone). Any better?

I'm thinking near the main stage is probably not the best idea only because it will likely be the most crowded and the loudest and might make it complicated for others to find people :\

Near the water is good for the sunrise but its real dark down there (if memory serves), and its hard to see.

Eh, I think any and every meetup place will have its good and bad points though.

I don't care where it is. I'm meeting everyone. You can run but you can't hide. I'm making up for MISSING last year's SS meetup plus the meetup I missed at Boo this past year. So I've got lots of meeting to do! =D
 
Well we can always meet up at the grassy knoll, since alot of this year's gang are alums of previous SS meetups and know where it is... and then we all go find a new place together if it's unsatisfactory. =D

I can't believe this is in a couple days!
 
Ok, it's official, I'm going, broken ribs and all. I picked up my ticket tonight.=D I'm starting to get excited too, this should be a blast.

I'm on her side.;) Change is good, but I think if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'll probably end up sitting around a good bit cuz of my ribs, and besides, I think I'd disappoint crow if I were actually standing when he sees me.=D
 
^^ Not a great choice for a first party, since all others in your future will look like crap in comparison. ;)

Other than that, all I have to say is this... we're on page 26 of the Starscape thread and it hasn't even happened yet. This alone speaks volumes! :)

The party of the year is finally here!

Despite the saber rattling of Hurricane Isabelle: The flooding, the destruction, the power outages, etc...

It's Starscape time!

There was one unfortunate casualty to our beloved Ft Armistead Park, which is that the pier is no more. It was destroyed by the storm. The bright side is that at least it wasn't structurally damaged unbeknown to us, only to collapse during the party, which obviously would have been the biggest disaster. So, let's have a moment of silence for the loss of a nice feature of the event, and move on.

To accommodate the situation, the Sonic Soul, DC Skillz, and Hip hop areas will all now be along the beach. The GSpot Art Gallery area is now going to be in the upper lots near the main tents. All other facets of the events remain unchanged.

If you've been to Starscape before, you know what a spectacular event this is going to be. The simple gathering of 5000+ people, all night at this wonderful venue is a site in and of itself. Add 5 areas of music, an art gallery area, numerous performance troops, and you have what has 3 times been voted the Best One Off in the country!

Here are some things to consider for this year's event:

- Temperature : It's going to be about 60 degrees, dress accordingly.

- Beer : We are going to offer beer for sale to those over 21. It's NOT in a beer garden, you can walk with it anywhere in the event! There will be Yuengling, Bud, and Stella. Prices will be $4 for domestic, $5 for import, 16 oz cups. There MAY be Red Bull & Vodka for sale, we're working on that.

- Parking : As we have done in the past, the immediate field in front of the gate will for people who will stay the duration of the event, as we will pack cars in. Do not pull down to this part of the lot if you do not want your car blocked. Follow all instructions from parking staff.
Arriving early gets you the best parking and the quickest entry into the event.

- Tickets : At this point there are still tickets left, but they sell extremely fast towards the end of the week. It is best to get your ticket in advance. If your local outlet sells out, that DOES NOT mean the event has sold out. We will make another announcement via email on Friday regarding advance tickets and tickets at the gate. We do reserve the right to raise the admission slightly for gate tickets, to deal with increased staffing for that procedure.

- Lineup Times : We will post the lineup times at www.starscapebaltimore.com by Friday.

- FAQ's : Or rather, the answers to them.

You may bring cameras, both still and video.
You may NOT bring your own alcohol. Because the event has a liquor license, that prohibits people from bringing their own.
There was a mixup with the agent over the Icey booking, Green Velvet replaced him.
There will be quite a few different food vendors, selling vegetarian, carnivorous and snack items.
We cannot allow tents to be setup at the event. Tents you may have seen setup in previous years were from staff members who had been setting up for days.
You cannot bring animals to the event, insurance does not allow it.

I can't believe the pier is gone though.:\
 
And once again i will not be attending this event :( Sucks wicked bad and i know i'm gonna be getting shit about it for the next year just like i have since last year, but all you guys have a blast. I'm totally jealous and i want to see ALL of the pics. And to all the NE crew who's going....drink one for me :D
