Sorry but that's the most retarded thing I've read this year. So you're telling me all those pre-workout powders out there that contain caffeine or other stimulants are actually recreational drugs, right? Where do you draw the line?
Don't ask me, it's not my line. I've only heard the term used in reference to injecting PIED users and diverted pharmaceuticals. All 'recreational' unless prescribed to treat a recognised medical condition.
If I was pushed, though, I'd say that yes, caffeine and other legal stimulants are also recreational drugs.
FYI most PEDs have about as much recreational value as aspirin.
'Recreational' doesn't mean 'gets you high'. It just means 'taken for leisure purposes' - including improving your bodybuilding performance or making cleaning your house more enjoyable.
Also aspirin is frequently used to potentiate illicit stimulants.

This is what's known as "off-label" usage... at worst it could be seen as misuse or even abuse, but there's nothing recreational about it.
Nope. That's a term that already has a meaning.
I don't really care how you label your drug use - if you don't want to think of your use as recreational, whatever. Just concerned that you might be attaching a bit of linguistic value to the labels that may prevent you objectively assessing 'safer' levels of use. (See all the people who convince themselves they don't have a habit because they're "not a junkie".)
