season two has started!!!!

its called SPARTACUS: Gods of the Arena. since the main actor (spartacus) in season 1 had cancer, they went back and made this season a prequel. basically showing how the gladiator guy started his business when he took over from his dad.

same great shit (violence, nudity,) w/ new plots =D

ust finished watching the first season on netflix. really enoying it overall but im unsure about the future of it.

I know the guy who is taking over the lead role. Worked with him a couple of times. He's a pretty good actor. But the show is absolute shit IMO.

Gods of the Arena is a spin-off show. Spartacus season 2 is in production.

I just got caught up on Gods of The Arena. I still like it. I think it's pretty well done, and I find the softcore porn to be pretty hot.

But I can't help thinking back to when I was a kid, watching Xena: Warrior Princess. I never recall thinking, "One day I'll see her tits in my face."

It took me a few episodes to feel invested in the characters and plot of "Blood and Sand".

I'm watching Gods of The Arena. I think it's a hefty goal to try cram this background in 6 episodes without it feeling rushed.

It's not the soft core porn aspect that intrigues me as much as the unabashed sexuality it shows. Not many shows have the balls(pun intended) to do what they have done and still want to be considered a legitimate drama series.

Although I was a bit dismayed to find out that some of the stars wear mirkins(I'm looking you Xena!) and some of the penises are prosthetics...

I mean...really??

at least he got to see Viva Bianca, Lucy Lawless, Katrina Law and Jaime Murray naked. =D
 
That's too bad as he made a pretty good Spartacus and I loved the series. I basically love ancient history and when something like that is undertaken and well done, like i feel that series was...I truly appreciate it.
 
Half way through the first season, absolutely loving it, gets better and better
 
I found Vengeance a bit of a let down until halfway through the series when it picked up a lot - mostly because the new Spartacus guy isn't nearly as good as Andy Whitfield and it missed John Hannah a lot also. But once everyone started scheming and shit stirring and back stabbing away again it got much better. My main gripe now is the swearing is much less creative - "Jupiter's cock!!!" ftw
