I love the internet, to a degree some social media, and reaching out to other people online.
There are numerous challenges when it comes to the nature of entirely written communication. It can be hard to recognize sarcasm. It's also hard to recognize emotion. It gets infuriating when people get upset that people don't recognize sarcasm sometimes. There's always the /s but it can be challenging, still. Not everyone's perfect to recognizing sarcasm online, @sexyhardware6969.
When I talk I always usually say "Yeah" instead of "Yes." I know it sounds batshit but the es in "Yes" always sounds too harsh to me, so I tend to go the "yeah" route.
Also probably batshit: I try to use a ! when saying thanks. "Thanks." sounds muted, perfunctory, and sometimes dismissive, to me. "Thanks!" sounds passionate, etc.
Any thoughts on the challenges of communicating solely by text online?
