Yeh, it's all luck. There's a place near me where I can get it as often as I want, they don't give a fuck - just sometimes get a knowing smile for my troubles. %)

On the other hand, most act like they're some august gatekeeper, rather than shop assistants.

I think the best approach is just to come out and say it, to be honest! The innocent person who just wants codeine linctus for their sore throat (or someone else's) doesn't realise that it could be abused or that there is anything wrong with asking for it, so they'd just ask ;)

Not that I've actually ever bought it, it's just my theory... and it's my approach for buying oral syringes.

Pharmacists usually keep codeine linctus out of sight, from experience it seems to be so they can claim its out of order if they're suspicious, but don't want an argument. Mind you, one said this to me once, only to offer me robitussin instead :D And if you think about it, 2 months is nothing. If linctus is used correctly you're probably going to have quite a bit left over after your health has returned. The bottle would be likely to sit in your medicines cabinet for years until the next time you come down with a dry cough.
 
Just wondering as we are in a recession and the blue-bloods are still handed a fukn HALF A BILLION pounds sterling a year, will she be paying for this bash p.a?

I see in the article that they were from Bath some of 30 jobseekers wonder if i know anyone i doubt it , even i don't know folk daft enough to get mixed up in that.
The bit i don't understand is this

If that's the case then they must have been getting paid and not declaring it .

After reading the whole article it sounds like someone made plenty of money out of it .
 
I don't think it's due to them doing undeclared work brimz. they'll be referring to getting 'sanctioned', which is the penalty that the private firms employed by the Govt use to doc your benefits for things like missing appointments, being late for appointments, 'appearing' to not be properly looking for work, and refusing to take part in certain job seeking tasks, or refusing to take part in the 'optional' work experience trials, which are only 'optional' to a certain degree

I think the job seeker that didn't want to be identified possibly assumed that talking about the situation and how unsavoury it was would mean she'd be sanctioned. sanctions are threatened left and right all the time ... much of the time they are threats only though, but it creates a general all round fear in many job seekers going through the process.

And these jobless people are LUCKY to be working for nothing, even a free trip to London! They should be paying for the privilege.
