So who likes benzos? El Benzo Threado Spectacularrrr 2nd Edition

I had a blood test today as per my second Doctor's request, not to sure why they would ask me to do that? Anyway I did the blood test, but if it's to check if I have had any drugs or benzos I will be fine, just a bit of THC in there. lol

My first Doctor was just a useless ~snip~ fuck who basically told me the other day that he will keep me on Pristiq and I will see you in 6 weeks. lmao wtf?? So bad bad bad. Even after telling him everything. Oh wells....

I am also currently taking lexapro which also isn't working but I am going to keep having it and just trust what the doctor says in that it will fix me, even though I am still currently having a few panic attacks here and there which is annoying because I can't continue with every day things like I used to just incase I have a panic attack and freak out.

However I have an appointment with a psychologist and will see if that helps me out, yeah he can't prescribe me a script but I've realised that if I can get better without getting on the benzos it would be a really really good thing for me since I probably couldn't trust myself on a script unfortunately.

I went to the doctor today hoping to get valium because of poor sleep plus ssri withdrawal. previously i had been given valium for poor sleep alone. My normal doctor wasn't there, so I got stuck with another one. anyway, she only gave me 25 x 10mg temazapam! grrr.

So what is a good recreational dose of temaz? I've never had it before, how does it compare to valium? Also, its a more sedating benzo, right? So is it safe to take with a small dose of codeine which will be under 100mg?

temaz with no benzo tolerance i'd start with 40-50mg.

i started temaz on 40mg. BEST EUPHORIA benzo ever.

now when i do a temaz i usually do 80-90mg. great times!!!

note not to mix with alchy. it'll just make u blackout/passout and u dont even recall the high!

As others can probably testify to, your doctor's race probably has nothing to do with the treatment you are receiving. And even if it did there are better ways to bring it up.

Hopefully the psychologist helps, seeing one helped me a lot but it took some time and effort on my part. Some of it involved facing my anxiety head on and challenging it, which was hard and not pleasant but in the long run has helped me immensely. :)

How long have you been taking lexapro for? You know it does take about a month to start working properly. I found that in terms of anxiety it can take a bit longer to start having an effect, then it does on depression which may begin to be eleviated after a few weeks. Its worth sticking with to see if it works. mind you I took zoloft, which is an SSRI but may be a bit different than lexapro

To be fair to your doctor. He has your best interests at heart by not giving you benzos. As you well know they are easily abused and addictive.

definately see a psychologist. they helped me as much if not more than any meds I took. they will give you the strategies to help combat the anxiety and maybe suggest life changes to rid yourself of it forever, and work with you to help change the thought processes that lead to anxiety (cognitive behavioural therapy).

If you aren't satisified with your doctor, maybe request a referal to a psychiatrist. they specialise in mental illness, and can prescribe medication.

double post.

Though temazapam was pretty fun recreationally. It is a fucking shit sleeping aid, at least for me. Even though I took 50mg for rec purposes earlier in the night, I still had to take another 10mg to get to sleep. then I woke up after 3 hours, and couldn't sleep. requiring another 20mg, then woke up again and couldn't sleep, so I needed another 10mg!

so far I am halfway through my pack! I have taken a variety of sleeping meds due to my insomnia and this is by far the most useless. I would of much prefered valium because it works well for sleep, and is great recreationally. otherwise for sleep zolpliclone and stilnox are the best meds I have tried. Fuck even restavit and Deptran are way better than temazapam.

Most annoying thing is I have to wait a week until my regular doctor is back, and i have to explain why I went through a months script in a week. Fuck!

I think we're all sounding like a broken record in here muntedmunter, if you're not satisfied with your GP, your not obligated to continue seeing him. I beleive your psychologist will be a great help. Mine gave me a letter to take to my GP which contained a list of symptoms that came evident during counselling, including adult symptoms of trauma, avoidance, sleep disturbance, anxiety and fear which may have helped my GP initially prescribe me valium. It was also this letter that preceded my referral to a psychiatrist. Maybe after half a dozen sessions your psychologist will give you a similar letter?

Temazepam worked well as a sleep aid for me, although each time I've taken temazepam, I've been drinking as well. It certainly knocks me out though, and it's fun to "fight" the sleep for a while.

I bought some Alprazolam (as Xanor) from overseas... I just got tored and fell asleep. Maybe some fake pills? Otherwise Xanor is the best for me...
Anyone else who just fall asleep when taking Alprazolam (Xanor)?

Mr. B - Yeah the race has nothing to do with it I just got carried away, not usually racist IRL! :-p

I'll give the psychologist a try which should help me over a few sessions, I was sort of after a quick fix but I guess there isn't really such a thing unless I got prescribed xanax which would be a bad thing for me imo. :(

If only I had self control!

Psy - I've now been taking it for nearly two weeks, it isn't doing much yet with my anxiety and panic attacks but yeah I will keep having it for another few weeks. I was on Pristiq but that had much worse side effects and just made me feel sick.

Opi8 - I wasn't happy with the first Doctor but have seen the second one and she is much more helpful. She doesn't just have a 3 min appointment like the last one and then kick me out and gave me some books to read, websites to look at etc. was given a letter to for a referral to a psychologist with a list of symptoms by the other doctor too.

Temazepen would also be good for me since I am having major issues sleeping aswell but yeah wasn't prescribed that either.

Anyway thanks for advice guys, much appreciated!

Maybe because of tolerance combined with temezepam's short half-life? In that situation diazepam or another longer acting benzodiazepine would be preferable as it may keep you asleep instead of waking up constantly. :)

That's cool, and I know how frustrated you must be. Hope the psychologist helps, just remember to put in the effort to sow the seeds you will harvest. :)

I might have to go back in next week and grab another benzo or at least some stilnox. Is it acceptable to say to a doctor that the medication you were prescribed is ineffective, even when it is an 'abusable' drug.

I'm currently using it to chill me out during the day as today is the first day of completely stopping zoloft. been a bit anxious and uncomfortable. it works ok. but not as well as valium or xanax. Is it safe to take restavit to get to sleep if I have had temaz that day - say with in 2-4 hours of it? I won't be taking a heavy dose of temaz.

^ Depends, if your tolerance is decent and you are taking a low dose of temazepam then the restavit should be fine.

I'd be very careful about this, it may put up a red flag that you are abusing it. I personally would keep quiet about it, but it's your decision and you know your relationship with your doctor. :)

I just got some zopiclone and I was wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with it? Erowid doesn't have any flash reviews of it, but that was when combined with alcohol and other drugs, so I figure it might be alright when taken by itself.

I know it's not specifically a benzo, but wikipedia tells me it's used in a similar way, so if anyone could tell me more it would be appreciated!

Its the best thing I've used for sleeping. So if thats what you want it for I would highly recommend it.

I don't think it would be that good recreationally. Personally, i don't rate it and stilnox as good drugs recreationally, but others may have different opinions. its more relaxing than stilnox. If you tried to stay up on it it would make walking kind of difficult, and things can get a little trippy. plus you may do stupid shit you don't remember. in that regard it is the same as stilnox;)

i was keen to give stilnox a shot if i ever got the chance, just to see what could happen, but i'll have to wait til i have a trip sitter around just so i don't get too stupid on it.

got a recommendation for dosages?

and i should probs sign out of silentangst's account before i post next time lol

I found it pretty good for sleeping, although it left a funny metallic taste in my mouth which seems somewhat common when using zopiclone. I took one 7.5mg tablet with a couple drinks (probably best avoided!) and cones. It is a less out of it high than stilnox but quite similar in nature. I would probably say stilnox is more recreational but I have more experience with that, neither are close to as recreational as benzodiazepines to me but both are superior for pure hypnotic purposes.

I wouldn't really expect much more than sedation with possibly a slight goofy sense of well being to go along with it. It is definately an effective sleep medication and I would probably choose it over stilnox/zolpidem was it not for the taste.

Perthboy as far as dose recommendation I would say 10mg for sleeping and 20-25mg for a recreational dose. It is definately a wise idea to get a trip sitter, just make sure it is someone you do not mind seeing you act extremely strange.

ah cheers man. personally i don't find benzos that recreational, only time i gave it a proper go i just fell asleep lol :P

i'll avoid the drinks/weed combo too, i hear that's when people get real messed up on it

Zopiclone knocks you out very well. Too well so I asked to be switched over to temezapam. Fucking doctor changed me from 15mg of zopiclone to 10mg of temezapam, fucking idiot. 10mg does nothing and the nurses bring me my pills so I can't take extra.

Agreed. Temazapam sucks.
