I have panic attacks acouple of times a month and use xanax when one hits. Asked my doctor about switching from xanax to clonazepam this week as xanax works but makes me drowsy as hell. He said the government wont allow it to be prescribed for panic disorder as it is often used as a date rape drug and is only prescribed for epilepsy. He was bullshitting me right?

what's your tolerance to benzos, man?
if you've no tolerance then that's to be expected. cut back your dose to maybe 0.5-1mg clonazepam if you're going to mix a drink or two with it. i'd skip the booze initially if you're just introducing yourself to the benzo's. get a feel for them without the influence of other drugs. clonazepam is quite a sublte one imo, though the anxiolytic effects are what is so appealing to me and the long half life.
i'm enjoying 15mg of valium with a few reds at the moment

I'm fairly sure it is on the PBS for panic attacks when other treatments have failed or are inappropriate, besides which he could have written a private script.
As for the date rape drug thing, if it is used for that purpose it would not be that common. Could and would happen, but not at the sort of levels where the government would be saying it can't be Rx'd for anything but epilepsy, which doesn't even make sense anyway.
Plus I know of at least one guy personally who is prescribed it for anxiety and HPPD. So he was lying to you.

Wow, what the fuck happened. I dosed 2mg yesterday and woke up fine. Then yesterday afternoon at around 4:30pm i dosed 2.5mg drank 2 cans of UDL and now as Im writing this it's 3:35am Sunday morning! ...WTF happened haha
Guess my tolerance is damn low....

2mg is a pretty large dose, especially if you're going to be drinking. Clonazepam recreationally is a really hard drug to predict, as for most, there is not much sedation and the good, sedative effects do not generally come without a huge amount of intoxication.
Some people require as little as 0.5mg for good effects.

nah man. you won't get addicted using it like that.
daily use is what you have to worry about, and 2mg daily would get you addicted in a few weeks I would say. Keep away from doing this and you should be fine.

So it's all about not taking to much or to little.

Thanks Blonde. I was 99% sure he lying when he said it but I didnt have the balls to call him on it. I have to get over this thing In my head that doctors are an authority figure not to be questioned or called on their crap... Guess it comes from visiting the doctor as a child with mummy and how it was such a big deal

You are correct in thinking oxazepam is a metabolite of diazepam, as are temazepam and nordiazepam if I recall correctly. Oxazepam is one benzo I actually have never tried but from my understanding it is less sedating than diazepam and has a considerably shorter half-life.

^ yeah oxazepam is ok to chill on and great for anxiety, but in terms of recreational value its not as good as valium. doesn't give me the same level of sedation, nor the enjoyable body buzz of valium or xanax.
I'm chilling on 75mg of it now. Not bad, but the equivalent of valium (25mg) would be much better. Might have a drink and see if that improves things. Normally I like to have a bit of codeien which helps things nicely but am all out.
this will be my last outing with it as I am going to save the rest for the comedown from an event in a few weeks.

Yep I'd definitely agree it's recreational value is lower than Valium. With the said I felt much more relaxation and sedation as opposed to the Oxazepam. Oh well I can't really complain since I was given them for free by a friend who needed them for an aeroplane flight as she is very anxious of flying.
Thinking about dumping around 45mg tonight with around 625mg of codeine, which is equivalent to 15mg of Valium. Should be fun! My tolerance is up on both substances so I'm pretty confident with this combo and amount...

ok, so serious question. im not all that familiar with benzos. had the main few that we all like.
but xanax/bars. i love it, great great benzo. i only ever have half a bar (1mg) and that does me very well, my question is, how often would i have to be taking it to build a tolerence, say if im having it once a fortnight, shud i expect a tolerence?
