Snoo version 6 - Shiny Spring-Summertime Snoo!

I haven't but will either get one, or use my old man's comp to do it with his bidsniper.

I will NOT be best pleased if some tosspot does get in there first and tax my pump. Those fuckers do NOT come cheap usually (theres a fair few on ebay in the 3-4 grand price range, which is way, WAY more than I can afford, even if it is in dollars.

If I don't win though I'll use the money to grab myself a couple of really beasty rotary vane type vacs, for use as roughing pumps. Keeping my eyes out for any mercury diffusion pumps that might be going, if I see any, for getting the pressure in the vacuum chamber/beamline(s) down to that last miniscule fraction of a mmHg :)
 
Went from bar to bar drinking beer and eating tapas, good way to end the summer with friends. Went for a drunken swim out to one of thhose floating platforms, big waves here as unusually stormy weather considering it's spain in august. Due for rain later in the evening 8( in a big snoo mood anywho
 
Spent ages being annoyed because the router needed resetting, and it's locked in my dad's office with no one around who knows the combination to the door. Just about gave up when my mate text me going 'why don't you kill the power to the mains then turn it back on again?'. Worked like a charm =D

It is usually possible to reboot the router from your own computer, if you know the password

First, find out what it's IP address is; on Windows, open a command prompt and enter "ipconfig /all", look for the Default Gateway line, it's probably 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 but in some cases is different. On Mac or Linux start the Terminal app, enter netstat -r and look in the Gateway column of the row headed "default".

Open web browser and put that IP address in the URL field. If it doesn't work straight away, try appending :8080 to the IP address. So for example:

http://192.168.0.1

if that doesn't work

http://192.168.0.1:8080

(use the IP address you discovered earlier)

If you need a username to login, it's normally admin or root. The password is normally written on the router, or if you google for the router model and "default password" you can get it. Of course if your dad's changed the password then you'll have to ask him.

Once logged in look for an "administration" section or "maintenance" or something, there is usually a "reboot" option.
 
Nice one, cheers <3 That's an even better solution as the power thing requires me to have a chair to stand on, a sense of balance, and my sister not being in the house to complain/grass me up. I'm fairly sure the login for the router is still default too. Wooooop!
