Multi-snoo!
* started my new job yesterday and am already making some ultra cool shit for a big big game. Feels like I might start enjoying work again, it's at a studio I worked at for three years already, but left four years ago. Surprisingly loads of people I know (and get on with) still work there and the atmosphere / team spirit is way better than the last place I was at.
* new job requires a 3 mile jaunt across town from the train station so I bought a flipflop hub and built a fixie out of a couple of donor bikes, which promotes riding like a total cowboy in a way that is excellent fun but will probably have me killed by the end of the week.
* got up at 5am this morning and ran a sub 49mins/10km before work, cutting 3mins off my PB, been stuck at ~52mins for weeks. Doing my first race on Sunday and was hoping for sub 45mins. Wrote this idea off ages ago but now it seems like there might be a chance!
* bought a smoothie maker to try to make protein powder more palatable and discovered that they're actually delicious, have replaced my Lucozade addiction with a freezer full of berries and other chopped fresh fruits to make different smoothies every day.
* giving being a vegan a go (because you know, my diet with my fucked GI tract isn't challenging enough!), haven't bought meat to cook at home for about 6 months now so am just adding dairy to the list too. It's got me interested in cooking again because it forces me to buy and prepare more fresh produce. Also, almond and hazelnut milk are delicious! I'm not going to be a dick about it though, I won't let it stop me going out for meals because the restaurant doesn't serve vegan food, this is more about reduction rather than abstention for me.
So after being super depressed last week and handling my exit from the last job pretty badly, things seem to be back on track. Change is as good as a rest and all that.
