Smoking weed with somewhat weak lungs?

I have kinda weak lungs, but want to try weed. I've heard about baking it in foods, and I was wondering if this could be a suitable replacement.

The effects are somewhat different, but it certainly works. You also may want to try a vaporizer. The only main issue with cooking it into foods is that it can be tricky to get the dose right, especially for a first-timer. Definitely start with a low dose first.

Well I can't afford a vaporizer, and would probably get the brownie from one of my friends. Would you recommend only eating half of it?

I can't give good advice without knowing how much weed was in it and what the potency of the weed was. Assuming your friend has a tolerance, you would want to take less. Ask him how much he would use if he had no tolerance and then maybe take a 1/3 of that. Don't be tempted to redose either. Sometimes, edibles can take up to 3 hours to reach full effect. It is easy to overdo it that way.

Having "weak lungs" covers a broad spectrum of things. Could you be more specific?

For instance, my lung capacity is terrible. Even as a kid BEFORE I started smoked cigarettes and weed, I wasn't able to go scuba diving because of this(or it wouldn't really be safe for me.) That doesn't mean I can't smoke weed.

We need more info to be able to give this a good answer

I'll confirm other posts. Eat sparingly, and give it time. Eating too much can be a bummer. I remember a night where I went from high, to a giggling puddle, to tweaking in a corner in fear due to redosing too soon...

Ok, I'll do all that. I have had phenomena twice, and have a hard time catching my breath after running for a short while. Not really noticeable normally, but just worried if smoke would have a really negative effect.

That's understandable.

My older brother had pneumonia this year and took a big break from smoking, he actually quit for around a month and was able to quit smoking cigarettes for good. Although having pneumonia sucked good things came from it (probably not very common in most cases lol). He smokes weed now fine without any negative side effects.

I had bronchitis a few months ago, and that really slowed me down from smoking. Even after I felt better, I still couldn't really smoke just because I was so congested with gross shit and smoking made me produce that nasty phlegm crap way more. I didn't bother with edibles and it was before I got my vaporizer.

With time, I'm sure you'll lungs will feel better and you will be able to smoke. Honestly being a first timer, I wouldn't go with edibles just because they give a complete different effect that tend to make people panic more because it's much more of a physical body stone. It also lasts longer, so if you don't enjoy it you'll have ride out the experience much longer than if you just smoked. Also, you'll feel the smoked effects immediate and edibles it's pretty much a guessing game. In my own opinion, I think you should just smoke it, but it's your call. I think with smoking there's a lot less room for error especially it being your first time. In short term, smoking marijuana is actually known to open up air ways (you can verify this with a quick google search) but long term effects of smoking surely won't help your situation out there.
