So I've messed around a whole lot with Poppy Seed Tea but I've always been to lazy to do an alcohol extraction in order to get what I've heard is similar to opium. I've never been to tempted to do it because in the past I have read it is not smokable and you would just have to eat it anyways but there has always been a debate. More recently I have read some accounts of positive smoking experiences so I was just hoping we might come to a definitive answer to the matter. This leaves a few questions...
Is the extract you get the same as opium?
-I have heard it is not, but i don't entirely understand why. Normally opium seeps from the pods and i always thought the tea you make is just the residual opium washed off?
Is it smokable?
-Obviously I would tend to believe that if you smoked some effects would be felt but I want to know if it would be as efficient a way to use it as compared to eating it. I understand the bioavailability of opiates varies between ROA but I am talking in terms of in comparison to say opium or morphine. Ie. Does smoking it make it more ineffective or effective then if you were to smoke pure opium or etc.?
Can it be IV'd?
-I personally am not too curious and I am guessing the answer absolutely not due to the presence of less desirable alkaloids/fatty residue/other impurities...but for the sake of good and thorough information I figure it should be discussed.
