Do the Brits/Aussies mix in tobacco in a pipe too?

Personally, no, although we do take 'shotties' which is where the bowl is taken off the bong and a small ball of tobacco is pushed into the tube which then has weed put on top of it. This removes any annoying resin in the bowl and I find to be an easier, albeit less tasty way of smoking.

If I have the choice I'll smoke pure weed in a bong/pipe and 80/20 weed/rolling tobacco in a spliff. I'm too poor to use pure weed very often.

Where I come from we also refer to a pure weed spliff as a 'blunt' - although most here know a blunt is really weed wrapped in cigar papers. We roll those sometimes too

Everyone where I live just smokes either pure weed blunts or spliffs, with the occasional 80/20 weed/tobacco joint if we're short on weed. We do use tobacco when smoking poppers, obviously.

what struck me as weird , when i was in holland none of my dutch friends would smoke a blunt or joint of just weed, they was like its too heavy, we like getting just a little high, we think you may have a drug problem, im like im in holland for christs sake of coarse im gunna smoke and drink and do everything i can get my hands on

I was told some people in the Netherlands can be that way about herb and they don't always smoke tons of it all at once or maybe they'll smoke a few hits here and there from a joint and then just go about their day.

My friend's fiance is from the Netherlands and my friend smokes a lot at times, but his fiance either does not at all or does it on very rare occasions.

the joints i smoke are $5 and are equivalent to 2 bowls of weed. No tobacco in them. I buy them as joints... not expensive at all

i smoke cigs, and ive hollowed out cigs to put weed in em, but whai dont you europeans just roll weed joints? Id never put tobacco in a joint, but i never roll. not a fan of blunts though, imo glass>blunts.

It all comes down to preference. I know a few non-tobacco users who roll it in their joints. A lot of people prefer it that way. And as you can see, there is a rather vocal group who don't add tobacco because they prefer not to, they like their marijuana pure. In my experience, most North Americans smoke pure, while the rest of the world mixes with tobacco, but it's certainly not the rule. You can do it however you like...

Nope, definitely don't do it. I'll roll a spliff once in a while, but that's a pretty rare occasion - only when I want to toke on the go in a somewhat discreet manner.

As for passing bong bowls around.. is it really that weird? With some decent pinching and etiquette, a decent sized bowl could last 2-3 people. [no tobacco 'filler', so the same high would take less volume, right? ignoring the nicotine high, of course.]

Hey dude, I don't have any studies to post, but seriously, smoke will always contain carcinogens, I think you're thinking of certain cannaboids that are suppose to reverse or stop cancerous cells growing, but the actual smoke can't not be carcinogenic in some way.

This is very uncommon in America, but me and my friends (really, most people who live in or between Southern Marin and Sonoma) will almost always mix tobacco with our weed (call them Mokes, but I know they go by other names in other places, such as mollers or bloopeys). Anyways, you smoke this mixture out of a bong and it gives you a good head rush and IMO really enhances your high. If anybody else has love for the moke or whatever you choose to call it, pm me! Always looking for fellow moke enthusiasts.

I don't spin unless I'm smoking a joint (very rare, once a month-ish). I don't know anyone personally that does.

That said, when I'm with friends, it's typically smoked in a blunt, which you could call tobacco (ha) if you really wanted to.

Most people I know enjoy smoking spliffs when they want to conserve. Its also a way to enjoy some tobacco with your usual smoke. I love rolling as well :D
