SLR Social vs. It's on like Donkey Kong

I can't believe it's so cold and it's almost April.

Impromptu trips are awesome especially when the beach is involved.

I think we're gonna be in for another record setting summer. 2012 was just not as crazy hot as 2011 and already saw a day of 97 and 101 here in TX. Right now though well below average.

And the beach - night or day, sober, wasted, tripping/rolling balls - best place in the world. Except Galveston - gross lol.

^ don't get me wrong it's cold as sh*t right now .. ok more like my perception of cold which is mid 60's and windy. . But this is south Texas beach which is abnormally cold for this time of year. Although this weather was preceded by record highs. Summer should be an inferno if record high spring and late winter temperatures are any leading indication.

Oh god please no hurricanes. We are due to get hit because we've been lucky like 5 years now. Although watching me put up hurricane shutters is probably pretty funny.

I think the el nino is supposed to continue this year... Pacific will be active, Gulf of Mexico remain quiet. Texas hot and dry. According to forecasts I've read.

I feel you on the hurricane thing, Dolly and Ike in '08 were pretty bad. Although both were strong 2's, Ike made a direct hit over east Houston and was a very, very large storm in sq miles. '08 was harder than '05 on the TX coast, cuz Emily and Rita both missed the populated areas. Both of those were strong 3's at landfall. Rita was an unbelievable monster of a storm.. came shortly after Katrina, and sure as hell didn't help NOLA get the water out.. Hit the border between LA and TX and fucked up Houston as bad as a direct cat 1

Ike was like 110 max sustained winds (111 is cat 3) so it was pretty damn close. How the fuck do the hurricane hunter planes get the windspeeds? I can't imagine FLYING into 175 mph winds.

If it changes to a la nina, then we got some problems :|

I got them out here too! Don't get me wrong, it's not unbearably cold, but definitely colder than I'm used to with the wind. Been wearing sweats the last 5 days.

(sweats are like the coldest winter clothes I own. And some gloves because I hate cold hands...)

Sweats are your winter clothes?

No, no that just doesn't count. Just, no. ;)

^ pretty much. Hoodie and sweat pants. It doesn't get cold to where you need the thermal underwear or anything, like colorado or minnesota. Coldest I've ever been in was like 20 degrees, and that's only a couple days every few years Winter here usually stays in the 30's (F) The panhandle get's a bit colder, but it's not very populated.

I hope you're right. Wilma's eye went over my house and I was seriously scared. I've never been scared like that in my life and hurricanes don't scare me. I was living in my townhouse at the time and water was coming in through the windows and it felt like the place was shaking.

I consider it my hurricane incident and think I should never have to do that again. Ha!

^ Oh shit! Yeah anything 100+ winds and large in size = mass destruction. When hurricanes come, I get in the car, get gas, and leave town. Fuck that shit, I been through enough to know it sucks without power for several days.

It was insane when hurricane Rita hit between TX and LA.. Everyone was scared outta their minds cuz of Katrina so there was a huge exodus, gas shortages, etc. Didn't even bother leaving for that one until afterward when it was 95 degrees and we had no power. Good thing it didn't hit closer to Houston, or wouldn't have been able to get down the roads with all the trees everywhere.

...:?

So I hooked up with mister ex-virgin again the other night. Looks like he might be a new casual thing, which would be awesome because he's insanely hot. I'm feeling very proud of myself =D
