DB^^ true that:) being single isnt bad unless you mope around and dwelll on lonliness and therefor make it bad. ive been there done that, as we all have but you snap out of it.

on another note Some people can have great fuck buddy relationships that are very beneficial for both partners who want there sexual needs met. Others cannot. I think thats all there is too it.
I can go easily for LONG periods of time without wanting sex so im probably just over it. I dont need or want sex. fuck theres something wrong with me

DQ: I certainly respect women with high sex drives ;) . I think "easy" and "slut" are concepts that are fairly redundant and are only used if you dont like some one or are intimidated by them. I think whether you're a man or a woman as long as theres no deception involved it's fair game.

TG: Thanks for the words of wisdom from Benjamin. Yes moping is fucked and I vow never to return to its ugly depths. Plus I had an awesome night out on saturday and am reminded how free I am now.

I know what you mean. I know a lot of guys that are like that including myself. Getting attached too easily and not having it reciprocated.

Its funny how the stereotype is for women to be the ones who want the relationships and men just want sex. I think thats a load of crap I think a lot of women want to play the field and a lot of men just want lovin.

I do think though that women on average are more choosey than men.

For mine; women are at first less choosey, but then think about shit too much, wig out and become really picky about who they want to 'end up with' ... guys are at first picky, but will then start a relationship with any ok gal, if they think it means they will be getting sex on a regular basis !!
 
^^ hahahahahaha so true! I shouldnt be saying that cos im a chick but in majority of cases thats the reality of it. Guys also wig out tho! i think everyone has a moment of "oh shit im not going to be single anymore, is this person worth it" before going into a relationship.
 
I once dated this guy who said to me "I usually go out with women who are gorgeous but Im with you because you are intelligent". If I was stupid enough to go out with that arsehole I guess Im not even that.

Do you know what I think?

I think there needs to be some kind of harmonious marriage between the gay stereotype and the straight.

The gay stereotype is as follows: a long-term relationship is one that lasts longer than 2 weeks....casual/anonymous sex is de rigeur.....sex is something to be celebrated, not something you do in the dark.....ditto for sexual experimentation....

The straight stereotype as far as I can figure is something along the lines of: having casual sex is BAD.....you should only fuck someone you have a deep personal connection with.....my life revolves around finding someone long-term to devote myself to and pop out babies with...

Bearing in mind, these are STEREOTYPES....there are obviously tons of people who don't fall into these categories even though they may be donut-punchers or breeders...

Having said that, I think everyone in the world would be happiest if they found a nice medium; sex shouldn't always necessarily be a sacred connection between two people, because let's face it, that isn't always realistic. We are sometimes animals who like to rut, and sometimes you just want to fuck the tattooed guy's brains out even though he has the intellectual capacity of a slug. There's nothing immoral about that.

We could all stand to unclench a bit when it comes to our attitudes towards sex, while being more respectful of the people around us and ourselves when it comes to affection.

The reason we are single is that we haven't figured out how to mesh these two disparate sides of humanity into one human.

(well, not the ONLY reason, but it's a fairly VALID reason....)

Well I think most of the straight community is pretty laid back about sex! We're probably at the medium the gay community needs to be!

That said, even though most of us has excused ourselves from uncommitted sex, other people's opinions on everyone else's behavior [other than their own, of course] can still be bordering on judgemental.

As I've always said, who gives a fuck who Sally Jane's fucking, as long as it's not your boyfriend, behind your back!

I dunno....I think I am uncommonly fortunate to be surrounded by a variety of free-thinking and non-judgemental people generally.....whenever I am forced to comingle with my family and/or other people of equal standing, I am always quite amused/shocked to find that their ideas of what constitutes moral sexual/relationship behaviour seems to have been birthed just after the Salem witch trials...I don't know that bluelighters are a good indication of the common man and woman (awesome though we all obviously are)

ive been told something kind of similar, along the lines of - im usually with girls because of their looks but with you i was just attracted to your personality. i dont think they get it
