Got my copy today. A very good reference book although with little new information. No human assays beyond what is already available in the literature and as far as I can tell no novel compounds. It does include a few post-pihkal drugs like methylone and br-dfly and has a biochemistry, analogs and pharmacology section for each compound. The appendix has MS data for many phenethylamines.

Excellent, great to hear. Maybe the melting point for 2C-T-7 will be in this one. I'm still in the dark about that, as the Wiki article is wrong, and it's not in PiHKAL :/
.

206-207degC for the HCl salt :)

^ Are there any relatively unknown psychedelics?
I guess many people here never read scientific literature with exception of PiHKAL/TiHKAL. (Including me:)).

There are 128 main compounds - mostly from PiHKAL. There are obviously some obscure ones but they all have extensive cititions and so are not really novel. There are tons of analogs listed along with references though and those might be interesting. The book seems more like a gigantic, well organized literature review (bibliography is ~150 pages) than a what compound to explore for human activity next type of deal. I'm not a chemist though so I'm not sure if the kind of information presented in the book will help people easily synth and target compunds to test for activity.

I pre-ordered it and I was told it was going to ship this Monday (3/14) and I received it on that day. IMO that is the best customer service you can get...lol. I love it so far! It is almost like a companion to PHIKAL. It doesn't list the exact synthesis of the compounds but instead list multiple methods, analogues, biochemistry, pharmacology, legal status, CAS numbers for all the isomers, etc. It has a wealth of information. Plus everything is cited so it provides a huge amount of resources to do further readings. Can't wait for Volume 2 to become available for pre-order.

^i received mine with no ship notice, so be patient and it'll probably show up soon :)

as far as the synthesis information provided, it is FAR more concise than anything in PIHKAL, so there's no risk of half-baked clandestine labs popping up. Anyone using this book for recipes is going to need their lab technique already up to snuff first.

Each entry has a "LEGAL STATUS" paragraph, and it's good to see the analog act being played down in this book. That is to say, most compounds have the following blurb:

DON is not a scheduled compound under federal drug law, or under District of Columbia or any state laws.

The fact that there is little to no qualitative human psychological evaluation of ANY compound (even the well-known ones like DOM) will make this book a little lame for most armchair chemists here or on erowid, but it will hopefully make a very positive impact on the state of medical research on compounds of this class.

Coming soon to a thought process near you

Damn... Been waiting for a bit, sure hope it comes soon. <3

I am impressed with the Transform Press group, and hope to support them in the future with more purchases!

Can't wait to dig in to this new meaty monster! I am less interested in the experience reports, the new physico-chemical data and extensive referencing sounds wonderful! :)
