Shulgin Index Release Announced! (This Summer)

When I ordered my copy, they said it was currently being printed, and would be mailed out in late January.
 
Good News!

From Anne's blog on Sasha's recovery (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/shura):

And the Shulgin Index is off to the printer, thanks mainly to Wendy, my wonderful daughter, who said (something like), "No more! No more! It's finished. We are sending it out into the big, wide world NOW!" At which point all the exhausted co-authors (Paul Daley and Tania Manning) cried out in unison (sort of): "Free At Last! Free At Last! Thank Wendy Awlmighty, Free At Last!"

Oh, and the best part is that Sasha is recovering!
 
Glad to know the book is finished & good to hear that his foot surgery went well & he'll be able to go home soon. Sad to hear about the memory issues though.

I just pre-ordered and the email states the book is supposed to go out the first week of March. Slightly off-topic but I found out that Shulgin wrote another book called Controlled Substances: A Chemical and Legal Guide to the Federal Drugs Laws however I can't find a good quality copy under $200. Anyone know where I can find a good quality book relatively cheap? I'm very interested to get my hands on a copy of this and read it.
 
i feel i should buy it simply because this man has done alot for everyone and has received barely a penny for his incredible work
 
Why is dirty pictures http://dirtypicturesthefilm.com still not out on DVD? a cynic would suspect they are waiting until shulgin dies before releasing the DVD to ride on the publicity.

the index is likely to be mostly disappointing it has taken so long to appear the information is now old and has been widely circulated in the underground. It is still worth getting if only to have the information all in one place.
 
^^^ I have a rough pre-copy excerpt here from a few months ago. The kids are gonna be disappointed with this one! Not like PIHKAL at all. Great nonetheless, but it is indeed mostly journal refs that the devoted and astute student already are aware of. But I'm still eager to see a final, whole copy, and it is nice for many a sake to have it all in one place......

The end...?

Hopefully this doesn't mark the beginning of the end for this whole research chemical "situation". I imagine a sudden rush of new and most likely very enjoyable chemicals onto the market will cause quite a stir.

from what they told me, they just received the first batches out of the printer and the first orders are going to start being shipped this Monday (Mar 14)

Liviving in Europe, I expect that by the end of the week I should have my ends on my copy! =D

And I do not mind about the cost. The Shulgins are not well financially (and that is putting it very mildly) and I hope that what they make from this book will cover their mounting health expenses. I do not know if the book is going through the usual resellers (amazon and the rest) but I ordered it therough their site, so I know that my money is in good hands.

I can even make a suggestion to all BLers to help the Shulgins, and if anyone wants to buy the book to do it directly through Transform Press.

I think we ALL owe something to Sasha and Ann. I certainly do.

Excellent, great to hear. Maybe the melting point for 2C-T-7 will be in this one. I'm still in the dark about that, as the Wiki article is wrong, and it's not in PiHKAL :/

Definitely. This is a big part of why I ordered the book at all. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them.
