Shrooming without wanting the "revelations"?

why not hae a spiritual revelation? that will just add more knowledge

Because they're SCARY! i'm not sure what is more intense than shedding your own skin through psychedellic induced realization.

I do it often.. but by GOD I had to get used to tripping for change!

I would agree wholeheartedly that you gain a massive amount of psychological resilience from trips that dont tear you down or end up neutral.

I find that being a more objective person helps, but release of built up emotions can sometimes be exactly what you need in such a deep gratifying profound way that you just fall in love with the mushrooms for doing what they do.

however some serious advice, if anything happens to someone you love or has recently I recommend NOT eating mushrooms until that issue is long over. Once on a trip my friend went catatonic from suppressed memories and I just couldnt help the guy... it was one of the most terrifying events in my life because even though I was trying something new to snap him out of it every few minutes nothing gave and he just continued to act like he was lost in a dream.

It tore me a new facehole and really humbled me, seeing that some people just can't keep it together whereas others have a natural ability to "stay in the moment", now my friend snapped out of it at an instant but I never knew if he was done for good or if he was going to need therapy or something.

to trip you need to be on a vacation basically nothing to harm you, make sure time is not a factor because trust me this is the BS you worry about when your coming up "is my mom coming home tonight? do I have to skip school tommorow? Do i have to be anywhere within 12 hours?"

so clear your mind of all potential worry, even after years of tripping I can get pretty looped out about something like a family member knocking on my door or calling me while i'm dosed and looking for the deepest aspects of my being 8o

The issue is now resolved, it was a big shock initially but everything is ok now. And I cried and got all my feelings out for like a week straight, so I don't think I repressed/suppressed any feelings.

And thanks for the advice ^.^
We won't have anyone at our house at all and don't have anything to do the next day.

Wait... you're messing with my head! Both past and future tenses! Did you do it already, or is it later tonight?

Well as the Tralfamadorians (time-omniscient aliens in Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse 5) say: Hello! Goodbye!

Once you are able to verbalize what it was like for you, let us know the play by play, within reason, of course, hehe!

When did I use both future and past tenses?? Lolol you confused me now!
But no, I haven't done it yet, I'm doing it tomorrow! Most likely before the sun goes down.

Past: "The issue is now resolved, it was a big shock initially..."

Future: "We won't have anyone at our house at all..."

Haha... but I kinda figured you meant it was yet to come.

Taking a psychedelic right at twilight, so it is coming on as you watch the colors in the sky intensify, and see the first stars coming out as the drug is coming on, I always found to be just such a magic-inducing time to begin a trip!

It makes you feel so in-sync with the Sun and the Earth and the Clouds and the Sky and the Stars, oh the Stars, it seems like you are bonded to the Cosmos and nothing can go wrong!!!

Here, my dear, listen to this brilliant piece of genius from the phenomenal album "Wrong Way Up" by Brian Eno and John Cale... "Spinning Away".. it puts me into a mood of total ecstasy and sends chills up and down my spine every time I hear it, even straight, even this very moment, I am nearly melting in tears of joy:

Oh and while you are at it... to really put you in a mood of utter cosmic Love.... listen to:
"Lay My Love" from the same great great album:

(Actually I recommend downloading these from iTunes or eMusic or Amazon or somewhere for full proper fidelity)

Don't fear the epiphanies. You won't turn into a religious nutjob unless you choose to.

Just be ready, and then accept whatever happens as nothing more than a trip.

You gotta turn off your mind, relax, and then just float downstream.

"...it is not dying...it is not dyingggg..."

if you want fun and pretty colors, try acid. Its much more malleable recreationally this way. Still though, any psychedelic can and probably will give you revelations and epiphanies.

You'll be fine, sit back, relax and enjoy the flow. The more open and willing you are to everything the easier it will be, it's only when you try suppress or ignore something that it creates friction.

Let us know how you go, mushrooms are by far on of my favorite psychedelics aside from DMT, they really allow for you to appreciate the beauty in everything :)

UPDATE: so I shroomed yesterday and LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was very amazing, all of you were right and I just went with it, it was so beautiful and I can't wait to do it again xD
At one point a simple text freaked me out a bit, because I got tripped out about what it said, but thankfully that was at the end of the trip and I was able to get it under control.
