SHOULD I inject alone?

I shoot up all the time. I recommend you do it with a friend always if possible. It's funner because you have someone to talk to, and you get real talkative with cocaine at times.

Also it helps since you might not know where to find a vein and missed shots can screw you up. Keep everything clean, and unlike me, don't get so carried away with finding a vein you get frustrated and poke around or "fish" for it. If ya miss, pull it out. Clean your rig and try again. Fishing and random poking is the ultimate way to get track marks.

Also, as much as you want to ride the lightning, hold back on your shots. I once shot up so much I thought I was becoming a substance more akin to metal than flesh. Like I was being crystallized into a diamond statue or some shit. Didn't realize I was right on the edge of ODing. Keep calm in these situations "Enjoy them" (If that's possible) cuz the least you panic, the less likely your heart will go into seizure.

I had a friend who'se body was shaking into a seizure and we all freaked out, but he was laughing it off, just telling us to lift him into the bedroom so he can lay back and take off his shoes. He was calm, collected, and within moments relaxed enough to come out of it. Anyone who would panic in that situation would be fucked. Adrenaline only makes it worse.

Be cool my friends.

i enjoy using all drugs by myself for the most part, and for THAT reason it doesn't make me an addict. i am introverted by nature anyway and dont like to be around a lot of people. i like to do coke by myself too at times and enjoy the "music euphoria". however sometimes being to coke'd up makes me wanna be a social butterfly at the same time. i am an addict anyway for other reasons but i like to get high by myself.

seems like you're confused whether you're an addict or not:\

Uhh...Opiatekrzy is an addict. Maybe he was high when he wrote he wasn't. I love you, Opiatekrzy.

Don't blame ya, sometimes other people can get in the way. But there's nothing like a wingman who gets ya, and who doesn't make you feel like shit that you're shooting up. Injecting is pretty degrading sometimes in itself, it's nice to be around people who enjoy the kind of highs you do.

One of my buds, was introverted, not talkative at all. A terrible wingman, but back when I was a kid before all my hard drug use I had a friend I smoked weed with all the time. I wish me and him could have stuck together, I know the guy does dilaudid (Which I never did) while I am mainly a stim-fan. We'd be absolutely fucking dangerous to each other lol.

There's nothing wrong with injecting alone (at least, not any more so than injecting with other people).

I'm sure I'll catch flack for this, but it's true: It's very hard to overdose. Just one man's opinion, but I think that people who overdose, especially multiple times, are just idiots.

Some places you can't really shoot with other people. When I started injecting, I was in a somewhat rural area, where if people even heard about you sniffing coke they would ostracize you. Some places have extremely strong stigmas attached to 'hard' drug use (hard = not marijuana or 'cool' drugs like LSD and shrooms).

Especially in high school, where social interactions can be particularly vicious. I've seen people just about make someone cry because they tried coke once or twice.

I for one don't agree with this. I discovered it is eerily easy to OD on C.

Whether you're much better off with other people is another matter. You're better off in company if you're the one to OD. If the others are the ODers you would've been better off on your own.

Four more people = four more chances there'll be an OD.

One OD death in a group of ten = 9 people who go to jail.

i dont agree with this at all.

what if it is the persons first time trying, say, cocaine or heroin and they don't know their limit and put too much in their shot and flake it? who's going to be there to help them and call emergency services or take them to the hospital, cpr etc

i just don't think you should be saying that on this site:\

The problem with injecting coke is that you are going to do it more than once in a session (unless you are TR above). With each successive shot, you become more desperate and determined to eclipse the rush you got from the first shot, and judgement starts to fly out the window.

Your arms start to look like a pincushion as you poke and poke, trying to find veins that have shrunk to the width of a thread, and you use ever increasing amounts as you overload rigs with a C solution whose concentration you stopped measuring and keeping track of an hour ago.

Almost by accident, you hit the vein dead on with a shot that's way to big and way to strong. You push it all in, anticipating the rush that will follow, but something's wrong - it tastes too strong, it went in way easier than the last one. Your eyes cross, your limbs start to shake, the strong, strong chemical taste hits the back of your tongue before you even slide the needle out. You panic, looking for a soft place to land, but your legs give out before you get there. You struggle to retain consciousness, to regain control of motor function; the train roars, you puke, and then your tunnel vision closes in to . . . nothing.

If noone is there to help you, you aren't going to help yourself. You don't have a great chance of survival at that point. Best you can hope for is that your body isn't found by family and loved ones. OK?

I've been there once or twice, but I've found that if you inject just once, this 'fiend factor' is virtually nonexistent compared to if you do it twice or three times.

But leave it to a heroin user to think we're only talking about heroin here. Yes, cocaine is a different picture when IV'd for many reasons, mostly intense psychologicaly ones. What I said was in reference to shooting heroin.

There are always what-ifs and hypotheticals, don't be an ass.

You can do a shot of heroin right, and end up doing 3 times the amount you 'normally' do, and probably still be fine (unless you routinely do monster doses). I find that the human body is extremely resilient - how else could it survive someone injecting street drugs every day, all the nasty dirt we must inject inadvertently, et cetera?

'Probably' being the operative word there. And no consolation to those who do OD.

i'm not being an ass. you're being an ass by not recognizing people fuck up and OD's occur.

I called you an ass because you're posing all these hypotheticals and what-if's like I made my comments as if they were physical law. Of course shit happens. Sorry, I didn't mean to be inflammatory, but you're comment was quite 'ridiculous' (for lack of better words). Of course 'shit happens', and what I'm saying is a generalization.

Of course. And I don't mean to bust on those who've overdosed. But we all know that person who overdoses all the friggin time, they always put in more then you should. We all know that person who just overdoses all the time and doesn't change their dosing at all. And we all are kind of tired of that person.

you're being an ass by not recognizing people fuck up and OD's occur.

I knew someone would just start ragging on me for what I said, god forbid I don't say the same thing as everyone else. I wrote the guide on what to do when someone overdoses, I know the deal. My comment is that the body is quite resilient, and it's pretty hard to overdose on heroin if that's the only drug you are doing.

Most overdoses occur when polydrug use happens. A smaller amount is from people trying out a new batch when they have huge tolerances and messing with larger amounts. But if you have clean heroin (ie its not fentanyl or a hot shot), and you haven't done any drugs that day up to this shot, you won't die from a 20 bag. You may fall out, may need supervision, but the body is just fucking strong.

You may feel like dying though. The body is just strong. And I feel the gap between 'i did too much' to 'death' is pretty large.

^ What's a hot shot?

And thanks for the guide to ODs, it's very well written; we have a sticky in AusDD for posting links to threads of interest in other parts of the site, I made sure to post a link to your guide a while back.

im not ragging on you and i threw one hypothetical situation out there. sorry for my "ridiculous" claim. i only put it out there because my father accidentally OD'd in his teens from heroin, but was lucky enough to be taken to the right services and revived. and heroin being the only drug he had.

heres another hypothetical for you - i've never done heroin, i score a gram. as im used shooting half a gram of meth, i load half a gram of heroin in my shot. what do you suppose happens next if i'm alone?

you're forgetting what site your on and other people who've had nothing to do with heroin may see your statement and take it for granted they can go blow a gram of heroin over 10 mins and be safe.

a hot shot it a deadly shot where it's been loaded with something to kill the user, other than the drug itself.

do you remember a couple of year ago on the news, down in Agnes Waters, there were these Neo-Nazi's (i know because me and my boss drove past the property and there were big swatzika's over the entrace and nazi signs everywhere) who got ripped off by a certain drug dealer. someone got shot, and another person was given a hot shot of meth, resulting in their death.

the neo-nazi story was aimed at Mr B because he's from queensland as wel and there was a bit of a story around it

yeah man, it was crazy. after we'd finished wiring up a house out near there we had to take one of the back roads to Bundaberg to get to another job. on our way out of Agnes, there were cops with road blocks pulling over every car on the way in and out of town. they were all dressed in bulletproof vests and the lot

Sorry to hear about your father's troubled past, but it's not like he overdosed multiple times right? We all know that dumb kid who overdoses over and over, it's almost like some people do it for attention.

What happens next, in your hypothetical, is that you'd most likely survive but get very, very sick.

Look, in the perfect of perfect worlds, we'd inject in safehouses, use clean rigs only once, and have clean dope. But the real world is much different. Many of us don't have the luxury to shoot up with other people around.

I don't think it's really that much more dangerous to inject alone than it is to inject with others around. If you're one to push to envelope, yes, you should have others around. But like I said, the body is pretty resilient, and unless your mixing drugs and pushing the envelope, you'll be fine to inject alone.

No one is just going to be around with 'nothing to do and with heroin' and just decide to blast themselves, and read my comments and suddenly decide to push the envelope. If you do, you're going to get extremely sick, miserable, get itchy and puke everywhere, nod out so hard it hurts, and get a bad headache. It's not fun, but you'll survive.

What I'm saying is:

1. The body is resilient, and you can survive (and get extremely fucking miserable and sick) a dose multiple times higher than a recreational dose. People act like you just take a .001 gram higher than normal dose and boom, your dead. Yes, heroin is deadly, but as long as you aren't being fucking retarded and don't have a huge tolerance where fluctuations in quality can spell death, you'll be fine with your common sense.

2. Shooting up is dangerous, and injecting with a group is dangerous. As such, it's not much more dangerous to inject alone if you aren't mixing drugs. Don't go higher than half a bag if you don't know what you're doing or what exactly you have yet. No, you shouldn't inject alone, you shouldn't inject period (in a perfect world). Just use your common sense.

3. Read my guide about what to do when someone overdoses.

Your welcome, thanks for the feedback!

Anyways, I know lots of people are going to go "oh this kid doesn't know what he's talking about I bet his guide is full of shit and he's full of shit". I'm just talking real world here people, not this vacuum bubble of we should all inject with people around and never re-use syringes and have narcan on hand.

Mixing drugs are the main cause of overdoses, and if you aren't mixing and haven't developed a huge tolerance from abusing heroin, you should be fine if you play it cautious and use common sense. Fluctuations in quality can cause overdoses if you're regularly shooting over a gram, and suddenly it's worth 2 grams in quality. But if you don't have a tolerance, just do half a bag and you won't die.
