Short/Long Hot/Cold Day/Night: Would YOU Describe YOUR Drink??

^Under the right circumstances reds are definitely superior, but I must say the hangovers they can sometimes pack keep me drinking less wine these days.
 
This weekend I am going to buy mixed drinks for the first time since the new tax business has come in. Its a good thing I barely drink any more. Maybe I will just take the partial bottle of Absolut Mandarin I have left. No chance of leaving the party with any of it remaining though.

When I was a poor young binge drinker I used to buy $10 buck chuck, aka Melon Schnapps and skull it anyway. Shudder.
 
Bacardi 151 and coke. Can't seem to get drunk enough though. Will drink faster.
 
Lowenbrau original again. I've decided that seeing as I'm feeling depressed I should get drunk tonight and not go to work tomorrow. Brilliant logic :)
 
Lindeman's chardonnay at Yum Cha with Katmeow, starfalls, KryalkastlE and iamtha1. The chardonnay was probably better than the meal which wasn't actually yum cha at all but an $11.50 chinese fried-food fest, but the company made up for it :) :)

I really prefer to slightly chill my reds - I don't mean to sound wanky (and yet, i'm going to), but to me, when they're chilled, the fruity flavours are more pronounced, and the herbacious flavours are slightly muted.

I love a nice red. :) Pinot Noir, Cab Sauv, Cab Merlot or Merlot.
 
Beez Neez. So, so good. I recall drinking jugs of it with a certain bluelighter who then dogged on work the next day and nearly got fired, because she was throwing up. Too funny :)
 
^ Yeah funny for the person who didn't nearly get fired. I had to deal with possible job-loss AND projectile vomiting. Not one of my best days.

Because I feel so much better after wasting another weekend being snotty, I'm drinking Johnny Q Semillion Sauvignon Blanc. The guy at the bottleshop downstairs looks so much like 1234 I do a double-take every time I'm there. So much better than the nasty blue hair lesbian who used to do the weekday shifts.
 
^I found it pretty funny the other day when Leecie said they sell Oyster Bay there now :D

I'm drinking water because it's one of my newly introduced AFDs (alcohol free days) and also because I just really like water.

Semi-smashed on Beez Neez again but I also drank 5 Super Drys at the bowling club.

The problem with my newfound, renewed interest in alcoholism is that hangovers stick with you the whole day when you have to get up at 4:30. And it's hard to eat with a seedy stomach.

But fuck it!

haha They're also selling a selection of $9.95 wines now, which would've been unheard of 18 months ago. I guess they've realised that some wine drinkers are skullers, not sippers. ;)
 
Hey Mel. I actually respect the fact that you've quit everything a lot and I wouldn't recommend jumping back on the wagon at all. If I could quit drinking and focus on intellectual disputes entirely instead, I would do that. But probably be less interesting interpersonally.
 
Yes and no. We're still debating the number of nights a week it should apply :D

And LP, we've all heard a million and one hangover cures, but for me, it's spicy food. A really hot beef pho soup does the trick for me.

The thing is though, is that I thought I would be more mentally stimulated, but im absolutely not, im worse than a potato who had ears growing out of it sitting on your kitchen bench moulding away and then passing the mould onto to the other potato's.
