It's not worth it to use your genitals' veins for IV. It is possible and just as easy as shooting anywhere else. Just think about it this way though. Let's say you miss a shot in your arm and you really don't want to go to the ER but you still do anyways.

Can you imagine looking medical health professionals in the eye and telling them "I missed a shot of ___________ in my dick"?

If you can't imagine being able to do that without being horribly embarrassed and/or humiliated, and don't have proper injection technique, don't even think about injecting into your genitals' veins for IV.

Yup, this. A really good friend of mine (20+ year junkie) was regularly shooting in his dick in the last year of his use. He rotated with his neck and femoral though. Miraculously, he's still alive and his dick is ok according to him, but gotdamn. (Thank fucking god you're still alive G. I love ya, my brother.)

Obviously, he was at a point where he just didn't give a shit about anything and he'd been celibate for years b/c of his dope use anyway so his dick was just another injection spot for him at that point.

Just posting this b/c it's not a joke. People do it. But my friend was really, really, really lucky. He got out of the game HIV+ with Hep-C, but he's got all his limbs and his dick's still there. Cautionary tale.
 
Needless to say, shooting in your dick is a really bad idea. Really bad, you could end out either losing your dick, balls, or life, or all three. DON'T DO IT. If you 'need' to IV, there are other, safer places. If your dick is all you feel you have left, it's time to get onto methadone or another ORAL medicine ASAP, to stop your withdrawals and save your dick/balls/life.

man that got me thinking of those pictures i saw in rehab where entire chunks of muscle/flesh were removed due to abscesses. imagine having a chunk of your dick carved out. how fucking horrible that must be.

That's why you never inject into your extremities unless you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing and are not a noob at injecting drugs! Ideally you wouldn't inject at all if you're a noob to injecting drugs. Then, when you know what you're doing, it's not as hazardous. It's still risky to use any extremity for IV drug use though, and it's still discouraged for other people wondering about this.

Is your friend a fucking idiot? Where's the nearest rehab? Meeting place?

For Christ sake, shooting up into your penis? A fleshy appendage that is used for excreting toxins from the body and procreation?

If your friend is taking drug addiction/using drugs to that extreme he needs to wake the fuck up and needs that call fast. That's absolutely fucking ridiculous and a step back would indicate that.

i can see it happening, but not very much at all. who would be stupid enough to do that? even if your entire body is tapped dry and you have no veins... shoot into your eyeball!! i hope nobody actually tried to shoot into their eye or something....ever...i can see it though...
 
Well I've known a few who have done it so I presume there must be many others cos it's not like I've met every junky in the world. I doubt that it's many in the grand scheme but it's not as uncommon as some here seem to think. Desperation, lack of veins and withdrawal can make people do some seriously fucked up stuff. Including injecting their cocks.

And I think there is a case of some moron injecting into his eyeball in the Case Studies thread. That's even worse - at least you can technically use your penile veins but the eyeball :\

I guess you have never known serious long term junkies then because using the vein in your penis is more common that most people think. I have personally known 3 people who would use their penis vein as a last resort(which happened more times than not). Still, not a good idea, but this isn't some unheard of thing which is just mindblowing and completely far out. You shoot drugs, you lose veins, eventually you only have one left. Its not like your addiction goes anywhere at that point.
 
I've known three people to do it and I have been close but could never bring myself to stick a needle in my penis....not even when all my other spots were fucked, I'd always just do IM if I couldn't hit a vein anywhere else. I will never resort to shooting in my peepee, too afraid I'd miss or something and either really damage something or just be in a massive amount of pain.
