SWR always used to ta;lk about being a Thatcher yoof n was quite in to free enterprise i remember reading in one of his books the one circa 2001 ?
He gave her props for making the youngsters go out n get in to business themselves .
Obviously he was refering to illegal stuff but still .

I missed April Fools day this year - I always do as it's my birthday on March 31st so April 1st flies by in a haze of chemicals and/or sleep..

I'd say that by being a "Thatcher Youth" he meant a youth of the Thatcher generation. Not a Thatcher supporting youth.

And if he praised her for making youngsters go out & get into business themselves, meaning go out on the rob or punt drugs, then he was clearly being sarcastic in his praise. It's not like that's what Thatcher was aiming for. He's obviously meaning "Fuck yourself Thatcher, I'll make money illegally."

In other words, they got by despite Thatcher, not because of Thatcher.

I've read 1 or 2 books on The Mondays. Bez's is surprisingly good.

I've just started Skinner's The Story Of The Streets & I've got a massive backlog of books I've bought over the past few months to get through so it'll be a while till I get round to it though.


Edit - Amazon's "One-Click Order" thing should be illegal lol. Faaaar too easy to spend money with that thing.

I thought the fucking idiot meant they paid dole in Thatchers day without making you attend schoolrooms for it - but obviously that wasn't thanks to Thatcher it was thanks to Bevin.
