I recently decided to try a Jordan Peterson (famous professor of psychology in Canada) technique, whereby you draw an unpleasant memory to the surface wittingly and consciously--one that typically surfaces unwittingly or at random. The memory I chose to focus on was one of me bridge jumping over a decade ago. There was a girl on the bridge who asked me if I was going to jump. I hadn't prepared a statement. I mumbled something along the lines of, "No, not yet."
I chose to draw up this memory because I wanted to understand if she was being negative on purpose or if it was something more or less fleeting. I have other memories I'm going to try this with in order to get out of this funk.
