Sex in public

That seems like the ideal compromise to me. And while I wouldn't wanna go there, I'd happily vote for other people to be able to.

Maybe our view of sex is tainted.

IMO it should be celebrated and most people would want their privacy anyway because of intimacy. Not many people would bang in public, but for those who do i don't think it should be a gross picture.

I like the theme park idea though. I guess.

@JessFR is completely right. It’s not something that should ever be the norm for all the reasons she states and more.

Is it fun to muck about somewhere you might get caught? Of course but I wouldn’t be doing it in the cold light of day ffs! @jhjhsdi you need muzzled. 😝
 
when me and my boyfriend first met at 6th form (so i was 16 and he was 17) we had sex in public out of necessity.... cos we just needed each other right then and there, but we were very careful to hide, there was a roundabout with a circular hedge on it that we'd crawl under and all you could see from the road was the hedge, no light coming through.

someone in my maths class claimed they'd seen us having sex on a rock that we most certainly did not have sex on cos it was right out in the open and everyone in that class called me 'rock girl' is was fucking embarassing.

being perved on my weird men is definitely a big reason not to. when i was 15 i had sex on a beach (at like 1am) and when we finished found 2 weird men staring at us.

i generally find public displays of affection deeply gross. i remember in a quiet corner of a pub once this couple started banging like directly opposite me and they apparently thought it was hilarious but i was out of there super quick.

we are wired to have sex in private for a reason. doing your business with an audience doesn't exactly foster an intimate relationship and could make the sex more performative which is also probably not good relationship wise.
 
Voyeurism. There was the grassroots festival couple who tore off a piece. It was dark but clearly they were banging. I walked by but it too was obvious.

But there's porn and that's sometimes like aspirin so you don't have a stroke. Not like that's preventable.

I'd prefer to be in private. Not really into orgies.

I honestly feel uncomfortable with really general P.D.A. i.e. kissing in public, groping, holding hands, etc. Took a long time for my wife and I to both feel comfortable giving each other a peck on the lips in public.

People can bump uglies however they like IMO, but I don't want to see it. Growing up, I recall my parents never really showing public affection for one another. So perhaps my "Catholic guilt" upbringing colored my views of sharing your sexuality with the general public.

I feel this; I lost my virginity to my first girlfriend in the woods by a bayou lol. Not romantic at all and about halfway through some guys came wondering by and we got scared and ran off. I remember one shouting, "Hey look, naked people!" My folks were helicopter parents so the only places we could shag were public. Had a lot of car sex with that girl as a result too.
 
It's understandable why we don't allow it... pervs, exposure to children, body shaming, societal taboos.

I'm just wondering - if we can try to play a game where we imagine a different world for a sec - if the sexual hangups were resolved, there was no more sexual trauma in the world, and children weren't around, would it be so terrible?

Or is sex inherently intimate for most and part of that intimacy is that it's a contained act?

My friend who raised this question, for him sex is very transactional and he can objectify sexual partners as though they are porn, no problem. I can see why for him, sex in public would be no big deal because he doesn't understand containment and he has poor boundaries.

Honestly, I think people who would be in favour of this just have shitty boundaries. Yes that's judgmental but I can't see it another way.

It's kind of like saying, if two people are fighting in the street, if they aren't fighting with you then what's it got to do with you? But we are social creatures and for a lot people, simply witnessing violence causes trauma. So what about sex then? Well, SEEING sex makes you a participant in it, does it not? You may just be a bystander but you're still witnessing imagery. It still enters your consciousness, it still affects you. And if you're not consenting to that, is it not violating? And no, it's not the same as other things like eating in public or other forms of non-sexual affection.

I don't know, it's not so clear cut as "you're not having sex with them so what's it got to do with you".

I've been to festivals where people just fuck anywhere, and have done so myself, some particularly small ones that were not prone to creeps. In town, id consider it offensive and not worth the legal risk.
 
I used to love having public sex with women and men in cars at night.

This was before there were cameras everywhere and nobody had mobile phones.

It's always "Pervy men" not "Pervy people"...The absolute pinnacle of perverse behavior in my experience are middle aged..independently financially stable , white women...#karen..
