Read how the the uk government got Obama to make a statement pro indpendence, using the BBC to put the question (illegaly). http://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2014/06/bbc-lawbreaking/

J K Rowling just knows which side her millions are buttered (ie the city of london banking/tax haven nexus).

There's only one argument worth having re independence imo: democracy - i'd rather have a government that represented me than have a share of the blood money of the city of london scum, even if that means dropping national income (which isn't certain anyway). Salmond is obviously neo-liberal like the rest, but once there's a chance they'll win, smaller more left wing parties will start to have more chance i think (/hope) (corporate media octopus notwithstanding) - at least to match the known preferences of the scottish people (or the welsh for that matter)

For me a good guide to whether my opinions are right is who's against - the uk elite are pooping themselves and chucking all propaganda they can muster aginst independence (including the BBC) - that's enough for me

Well said man.

I couldn't give a fuck if I'm better off or not after independence. I'm prepared to be worse off tbh. I'll happily pay more tax. Too many people worrying about their own bank balance. Saw some guy on a Facebook post say this - "If I voted no I couldn't look my bairns in the eye" - Think about 30 years down the line, austerity gone mad, Blue Tories or Red Tories still battering away with the same old shite in Westminster, still no real democracy, probably a few more sketchy wars. NHS flogged off, schools flogged off, police force flogged off (they will privatise the fucking lot if they can). Your kids been taught a bit about recent history in school "Dad, is it true that we voted against our own independence? Surely not?" ... "No son, that never happened. Alex Salmond was a fat cunt"

Of course Salmond is a neo-liberal. Are we not going to have elections in Scotland? If we vote for independence because we see a better way of doing things then do you think we'll just keep voting for a party that isn't fulfilling that? Compared to the UK as a whole there is a massive socialist influence in Scottish politics, that will only increase once the major party isn't mainly banging on about sacking Westminster. There isn't the two party monopoly in Scotland, and there is a slightly fairer voting system.

A lot of the things in our parliament are better tbh. It's illegal to lobby a Scottish MP. We don't have the ridiculous House of Lords. With a bit of luck we can get the monarchy to fuck shortly as well. Fuck yer King Charles.

If Scotland does vote yes and independence eventually becomes a reality, does that officially make it worse to call somebody from Scotland a porridge wog? :?

Normally I would agree with that, but other than paying to bombard us with propaganda how are heads of industry going to stop us from voting for independence? It's different when you're voting for party A or party B and both are essentially owned by the same people. In that case you have a choice but both choices are the same. In this case we have a choice but both choices are wildly different.

I run a clinic where men can dress up in the kilt without fear or embarrassment. Don't worry about being nervous - after a welcoming bowl of porridge you will feel fine.

Personally I'd like to keep the Union. I think we're stronger together and the people of England and Scotland, despite some friendly rivalry, get along pretty well. I'm also concerned that devolution would see the Tories outright win every election in what remained of the UK.

Mostly this. Much as I wish our northern brethrin well on their potential freedom from English governance that still leaves the rest of us poor fucks with the cunts. Scotland is the only significant moderating influence on English parochiality and Little Englanderism.. We're fukked without ya frankly. But I don't blame y'all for leaving - the rest of us would if we could :\

Racist prick. The correct term is Kippery Koon.

being as phonetics wouldnt prevent shambles being swung around the street by his already rapidly-receding hair - shortly after the punishment handed out for - at-worst - ignorance, on the étiquette involved in the addressing of a transexual member-of-staff, itd probably be better if staff at least try refrain from posting quite blatantly racist-devolved words themselves. just on the safe side, like

This referendum is possibly the first and/or last where we are part of a wholly democratic vote.

In a normal general election our votes don't really count for fuck all and have historically never really influenced who eventually get into government at Westminster.

Both sides of this referendum have issued expert reports on all aspects of the financial implications of indepencence, but the Better Together campaign have been caught out completely bullshitting and manipulating figures to suit...........

Professor Patrick Dunleavy - London School of Economics
Professor Patrick Dunleavy’s research underpins the Treasury’s case for Scotland remaining in the union, but he told the FT that the Treasury had manipulated his research into the one-off costs of an independent Scotland setting up a new government, making them look 10 times larger than they would actually be.

He told the paper: ‘The Treasury’s figures are bizarrely inaccurate. I don’t see why the Scottish government couldn’t do this for a very small amount of money.’

This begs the question...............if its so financially unsound for Scotland to be independent why would they need to twist the figures by such a huge factor.....

Lying Tory cunts.

Word.

The weird thing is I often hear people say they're voting no because they don't trust Alex Salmond. He's a liar. Which seems to imply that they do trust Alistair Darling or David Cameron who have demonstrably been proven as liars numerous times.

I'd certainly vote yes if it was proposed that the Midlands were to go it alone (only half joking), so I can understand why the Scots would want to vote for independence.

It's clear to me that very few of the Westminster cunts know the first thing about life outside the M25. Nothing more than corrupt, rich, white men patting each other on the back and buying Rolls Royces.

If those feckless bastards in the North East had voted 'yes', then we might well have had elected Regional Assemblies by now.

And we might not have had any need for this debate at all.

its going to be so close that roughly 50 % of the population is going to unhappy with the result. Or maybe some of the 'undecideds' dont really give a shit. There's going to be a lot of unrest w/e the result. I hope Scotland says No, i think we are a much stronger nation as the UK, and would be much diminshed without Scotland. If Westminster isnt giving the Scottish people a fair deal they need to sort it aaaaaat.

I dont understand why everyone is stressing "this decision will be for ever". Sounds like bollocks to me. Who's to say if independence does or doesnt happen and w/e the result it turns out to be a disaster, prompting another referendum within 5 years or something. OK the time frame is unknown but "forever" is surely a bit much, who's to say at some point in the future, it may be in scotlands interest to reverse whatever decision gets made on Thursday. It's 400 years since Scotland became part of the UK.

Call me an old cynic; but I expect it's going to be rigged to look like a massive "No" vote, even if the majority vote "Yes". And then the bribes promised if Scotland votes "No" will never appear. Just look at the effort that's being made to convince everyone to vote how the Government want.

I support anyone who doesn't want to be ruled from London (I don't!), and expect another independence referendum within my lifetime.

Fuck the Scottish cunts, who gives a fuck if they want independence? I'd rather not be associated with a country where 99% of its inhabitants are either addicted to heroin and / or Tennants Super.
