great program... could have done without the token people with negative emotional envolvment with drugs (eg. mr wood). it really didn't help, as they were unable to listen to the facts and in my opinion wasted precious time.
I've been over the show a second time, and some parts 3 & 4 times. Although I agree to a point that some people on the negative got a little too much air time, I also think it was essential, and more importantly beneficial, to have them there.
Most negative or ignorant views were highlighted by the users' responses, who came across generally as educated and definitely more informed people. To the public, I'm sure it would have opened some eyes, and I'm sure there were some parents who would have learned something.
What's best, is that among all this furore regarding the antidrug campaigns, even from the conservative side of the fence there were positive, very positive things said about harm minimisation. So regardless of whether or not you thought time wise, users got a fair voice, the points made were reflective of a world not seen in the current "reaper" adds.
It may not shake the government into changing it's current policy, but I believe it will get people - parents and kids - talking, in a way the scare tactics of the ads could never do.
BTW, did anyone notice that Professor David Fergusson also put his hand up when the question was asked 'who had taken illegal drugs' ?
