SAT scores

i wouldn't say this thread is dick sizing, imo. i think it might help other prospective students get an idea as to what type of scores you need to get into different colleges and universities.

that's how i see it, at least.

I don't think the thread itself is dick sizing, but with threads like these scores and numbers are usually inflated IMO. For example, create a poll asking "how big is your dick" and I'm pretty sure you won't get many responses under 7 inches.

I'm not trying to arguing with you really, it's just that I don't really like these threads (though I did respond to it) because it's too easy to lie.

ACT: 21
:( damn I feel retarded with all these other scores. Thank you stupid math learning disability that makes me not know how to multiply...
I got some special offer to take it in 7th grade, but I don't know what the score was and really I don't care to considering my senior year score.

Just took it in May (new test has 3 sections in case you didn't know)
750 Reading 780 Math 690 Writing
Took Chem and Math II Subject Tests in June (results in two days!!!)

The ACT isn't an IQ test (and neither is the SAT actually), so I wouldn't put too much in to the scores. The only higher education test that comes close to measuring intelligence is the GRE.

So, I'm guessing with the addition of the third test on the SATs that the scores are higher? I thought the highest was 1600. Then again, I took them 10 years ago...

I wouldn't put much stock in IQ tests. :)

How so? It's very similar to the SAT.

ebola

In structure, but not in how it's scored and administered.

I don't necessarily put much stock in to IQ tests either, I'm just saying, since most people use them to determine (or come to conclusions) about someone's intelligence...

Yeah they're out of 2400 now. I wonder what the writing section is like...

there are too many other things that can be taken into consideration for college entrance.. ie activities, personal history, family history at the same college

I hate these threads because there's too much potential for dick sizing, but here goes:

Back when the SATs were just math and verbal, I got 1370. On the ACT I got a 30.

750 verbal, 620 math for the SAT

I don't remember the exact breakdown of my ACT scores, but I remember getting like a 24 in math, a 34 in science, and mid 30s for the other two. Go Figure.

I also have to wonder how many scores would stand if we were asked for proof, like maybe your SAT score sheets with your screen names written on them?

yeah I don't like these threads either because it's just a lot of dicksizing.

I pretty much didn't give a shit about my SATs. Didn't study at all and got shit faced hammered the night before and got like an 800 total.

So i took them a 2nd time, this time i thought i'd do it right, so I smoked a big fat bowl of headies before the SATs :\

Both times were incredibly stupid, and I ended up getting just under a 1000 the 2nd time. I'm now happily at SUNY Fredonia :) after 2 years at community college.

I wouldn't sweat not doing great on the SATs (IMO they're pretty pointless when you can just go to community college, save money, get a 4.0 and transfer to whatever school you want.) Plus I think almost anyone can do great on the SATs if they take one of those SAT-prep courses. IMO it's not so much an intelligence test as it is a test about knowing how to take their test.

When i was 14 in 8th grade they did some thing where if you got good grades as a kid, they asked you take the SAT's as part of "John Hopkins university" something. So, I did it, i dont really know why. all i remember was thinkin it was mad funny that all these kids were so serious about this stupid test, and how everyone was mad tense and serious, and how sick it was that i coudl sit there and not give a fuck, not care if i got somethin right or wrong, so it wasnt that bad, i ended up with a 1190. but, i cant say i ever took em when i was supposed to....Shit i took my SAT's before my GED, fucked up huh?

EDIT: That was when they only had the 2 parts on the test and you could get a 1600 as the most, now you can get a 2400 i think cuz my younger sister took em and i think thats the new scoring system. BTW fuck the SAT's

you're cool........ :\

I got a 1280 on the SAT and a 31 on the ACT I think. I didn't do that well overall but I was extremely happy with the school I ended up attending (UCDavis). I had really wanted to attend Berkeley or UCLA but I am actually really glad I went where I went, studied what I did, and now am doing what I'm doing. My life path basically was shaped by the fact that I didn't get high enough SATs to go to Berkeley or UCLA and so I am VERY glad it went how it went. I'm curious how I would do on them now.
