Greenlighter
Hello Bluelighters,
I am a long time lurker (about 6 years or so) and have finally decided to join in the fun. A little about myself -- I am currently a Medical Student with a short history of work in the pharmaceutical industry. I am fascinated by pharmacology, particularly the amazing possibilities it offers for self-improvement. On the other side of that coin I am also deeply fascinated with the roots of addiction, abuse, and misuse. It is my intention to reduce the latter to the greatest extent possible. Like I said, I am a Medical Student and currently envision myself pursuing a career in Pain Management Anesthesiology. If you are in medicine to reduce suffering, I don't see any better place to be than in Pain Management (both for addiction intervention and temporal trauma response mediation through pharmacotherapy). Ask me anything about opiates! I am particularly fascinated with them.
As for history of drug use, it is extensive. Suffice it to say that I can count what i have not tried on one hand. I am neither prideful nor ashamed of this, it is what it is. My current academic environment, maturity level, and life priorities have caused my drug use to plummet. Sobriety is a wonderfully beautiful state all on its own. However, I have an extensive knowledge regarding most compounds and am here to help in any way that I can. Knowledge is power, and when it comes to substances of abuse it is the power over life and death -- thriving and surviving. So here I am! Finally part of the community and ready to contribute.
Best Regards to All,
