RSPB Survey - Big Garden Bird Watch

Certainly will, I think Poundland down the road do them, I will pop by and have a look, there's just an empty half coconut for the poor little blighters at the moment!

I think it's time for Super Speed Robin to come out . Hopefully that will make more folk aware of the Birds . It's like a distress signal .
I am a bit worried that he might burn off to much energy though :?

On it as always ,

also doing the Black Cap survey they want to know how they fit in teh food chain &
if they bully get bullied by the other garden birds.

I got eight balls of fat and seed down the pound shop and melted a couple into the old coconut which was hanging there... haven't seen a single bird on it in two days- either it's vile or they're terrible snobs.

Snobs then? The really cold weather has stopped here and the ground seems to have thawed which has probably made life a bit easier for them. I'll keep an eye out - never loads of birds round here but it's been almost eerily quiet the last couple of days.

You got in2 it then ?
Right good cos that means you have to feed em all the time otherwise they will fly past your gaff thinkin "tight Cunt".

:D I had a coconut a while back but they stopped eating it at the bottom, I reckon because it was inaccessible to them hanging upside down, then all that went black so no wonder no more takers. During the snow I hung out a partly peeled banana first, then a stale bun but they didn't like either of them, so I got the fat and they aren't having any of that. Either they're scared of the banana, they've got better nearby or they don't see it because of vegetation on one side of the garden, although it's right in the middle and I'd have thought it would be easy to spot.

Jancrow, birds have the best eyesight in the world man.

They will be back. Sparrows especially, but all garden birds just about, love those fat balls. Get some starlings on them and you won't have any fat balls very quickly.

They've found a better source. They will be back. Patience etc.

ye i am seeing the error of my ways. i used to feed the birds regularly, but got out of the habit slightly. have begun feeding them again and had a few. i just have to continue now. they spread the word about food. sure they invented twitter millenia ago..ask david icke.

they will keep coming back. need to book a time to sit and watch them too. tomorrow when i'm making dinner i think.

Birds are smart, but alas not quite Einstein levels . If they were my big tom would stop presenting me with fat robin kills...:|

Anyhoo, they're smart enough to have their breakfast / lunch / dinner / supper at a time when you aren't being a major, obvious voyeur :sus:

Counting the sparrow hawks this year, them and the buzzards %)

You start watching and you start seeing.

I heard a commoton of sea gulls outside the house earlier. i felt like I was at the seaside :D. I just brought the dog out to the toilot and I notice the remains of a pigeon at my neighbours door. feathers in abundance and a quarter carcass. me predicts an angry knock later accusing my dog. should I get in there first, knock his door and accuse him of satanism?

I did my Blackcap survey ting for the RSPB . At the moment it's only Mrs Blackcap that is around .

Her cap is really dark atm
