Another (better) fad was the Tom Carroll mini-surfer .. who could be fucked surfing when you had Tom to do it for you.

Basketball Cards, although they WERE the shit.
$7 for a pack of Upper Deck, which were really just some piece of card with a picture or two on them... SWEET!

Oh yeah, and Marbles, but they're the fad for every generation.

Don't know if this comes under the Fad catagory but pink shirts for guys are the new 'in' thing and I own have to say I love it... I OWN THREE

+umm... i owned a tamagochi, but at least i was a closet tamagochi fan and NEVER did i ever wear it cliped to my necklace!

+i had basketball cards, and i had power ranger cards too... only, i gave them to a girl i liked... grrrr.... i have a stack of 93/94 upper deck basketball cards... any one want them? there okay conditioned but *gasp*!! cornered!!

+those stupid pogs...! i hate them, i hate the fact my pog slammer always looked so new and everyone elses was marked and awesome looking... i have slammer envy....

+crazy attachments to your bag, phone, keys fad? yes... at one point, it took me several minutes to untangle my freakin phone to get a call through...

+lowrider jeans fad, with girls suffering from health problems... but soo worth it...

the funny thing is that you can't even really get basketball cards anymore ... except at specialist 'card shops'. back in the day, they were sold everywhere, from newsagencies to 7-11 and even in vending machines.

In my humble opinion, although the fad was on the decline prior to this, basketball cards didnt cease to be good until the 96-97 season ... when the improvement of 'normal cards' led to a decrease in stature of the 'special card'. The special cards are inargueably the heart and sole of any trading card collection and must remain highly superior to the other cards ... at least if they expected us to keep paying $7 per pack. When i opened my first pack of 96-97 Fleer (i think) .. i thought id got a 'hot pack' (all specials) .. but it turned out that there wasnt even one special card in the pack (something that was guaranteed in the 93-94 days) ..

remember the beckett? and who could forget that there were only 7 Michael Jordan rookie cards in the world worth $50 000 each ..

marbles and yo-yo's are both timeless in nature. thus, not really a fad.

but pink shirts for guys

this is most definately a ridiculous fad.

In all honest though I don't really give a fuck 'bout the colour of a shirt.
If someone is goin' to tell me pink is colour only for chicks i'm going to tell them to stick a small chiuwahua (sp.) into their rectum.
Oh yeah, I never owned a Tamagotchi... don't know why, as a kid I generally followed the crowd with most things.
