resolved: most addictive drug

Along with my many other addictions Afrin is one of mine too.. I put it on the back burner though. My doc tells me every now and again to stop and he gives me prednisone (a steriod) that helps speed along the process of opening up the linings again in my nose. But I would not compare it to the withdrawl that I had getting off of the fentanyl patches or the occassional benzo withdrawl...

I've learned since then to keep myself in check with those and vowed to never go through that again. Afrin however is a WONDER drug... I love it!!!
 
I had a cold a while back and also started on the spray, and I'm trying to get off it now as well.

I'm taking a Sudafed pill (120mg pseudoephedrine, extended release) when i wake up, and this clears me up right away.

Unfortunately, I'm blocked up again 8 - 12 hrs later..

I'd take another one, but that would keep me up. I'll end up doing this though- only problem is I take xanax as well....oh well guess I'll have to up the dosage...

Also there's this bandaid type thingy they're selling that you put on your nose called Breatheright. It lifts up your nasal skin to open up the passages.

I dunno, try it. It does help..

At least I'm down to one Afrin session a day 8)

Thats my number one most addictive "drug" as we have have classifying them thus. You see for me, its pussy that drives me to go out out and drink to sociatlize. The drinking then initiates the craving for cocaine. Or I the pussy may drive me to go out to party like rave with the music I love which then triiggers me to crave my first and favorite drug I ever tried in Germany 13yrs ago, extacy. You see for me everything reverts back to the almighty pussy. Its what we as man were put here on earth to crave, to propogate our gene pool. It is our eternal destiny.

Yeah, of course there are drugs that when taken for long periods of time will have a much more EVIL withdrawal, but with Afrin, you use that shit for 3 days and then quit and you can't breathe through yer nose without it... in fact, when I used to use it when I would have a clogged nose from snorting so much oxy, it got to the point I had to be put on Vancenase Nasal Spray that I had to use for about 5 days before I could breathe through my nose without the Afrin ... it even says on the Afrin package; "DO NOT USE FOR MORE THEN 2 DAYS AT A TIME" ... but it's just a fucking miracle drug for nasal congestion ... one spray and within 30 seconds you can go from being to the point you can't inhale at all to being so un-plugged it almost feels like you're nasal cavity is TOO OPEN ...

But yeah, I'd rather deal with an Afrin Addiction then deal with a hard-core benzo or narcotics addiction, actually, the worse for me was KETAMINE ... ofcourse it took asome serious use to get to the point I'd call myself "addicited" but the withdrawals from that were by far the worst, and I have had a lot of addixctuions to compareit to ... meth (which yeah, they say is only psychological but you sure PHYSICALLY feel the punishment yer body puts you through), heroin, benzos (yes, a benzo addiction REALLY SUCKS!) and ketamine .... I'm sure I am misisng another ...

But Afrin, DEFINITLY the quickest drug that your body becomes dependant upon ....
 
It's "physical dependence" in it's purest form. You can't breathe. You squirt the Afrin, and within a few seconds your nose is perfectly clear. When it wears off, you are more congested than before you first took it. Squirt again, repeat process. It's not a neurological thing... totally physical within your nose. Shooting one 8mg dilaudid feels nicer to be sure, but when it wears off you are not physically addicted.

Anyway, I still love my Afrin. Still squirtin' away...
 
I'm addicted to nasal spray and have been for 10 years or more. No I don't get high of course but I can't breathe good without it. I get real stuffed up and am miserable. Smoking dope makes it worse so I have to hit the spray after getting high.
 
MMmm. I just got went out to wallgreens. I wore nice clothing and said, "Can I get the severe congestion formula?" ... she looked at me sort of funny. Wondering if I was an abuser. I resisted going into the "junkie shuffle"... twitching my nose and breathing deep.

Finally. Sold. In the car. Box off... wrapper off... squirt squirt AHHHHH. Heaven.

No way you can sit there and say 'RESOLVED' as this is more of an opinion based subject... of course this has already been stated throughout this thread, so in MY EYES nicotine is the most addictive, alcohol being a close second.

Also... I can see why people would be so indignant about the thread starter making such a powerful assertion.
 
Oh man the Afrin "Severe Congestion Formula" is the only one worth using. And NOT the "no drip" version. That stuff sucks... I like the original formula that sprays all over the inside of your nose and drips down and gives that great nasal rush of fresh air. mmmmmmmmmmm yeah that's the good stuff.

Incident: when I started this thread, I did so with the topic being tongue-in-cheek. But on the other hand, I've used every opiate from darvocet to fentanyl and only afrin has caused me to get hooked.
 
Ketamine and PCP are extremely addictive. But you really have to be injecting the ketamine or sniffing pcp many times a day for a while. I shot ketamine for a month and a half straight, and i only got psychologically addicted, but i did feel physical symptoms. I can see how a serious ketamine addiction could be TORTURE.

But so far, methadone is without a doubt the most addictive substances ive had. My nose doesnt clog, but i get gran mal seziures, and things that can actually be fatal. Yes, people can die from high dose methadone withdrawal. Any reputable anesthesia immediate detox places using an IV antagonist WILL NOT accept high dose methadone patients, because people die! Its too dangerous.

Did you know primatine (for asthma) used to contain phenobarbital, a low dose like 8mg. Still there were some addiction problems, my father had a problem with it back in the 6-70s.... (back when it had phenobarb).
 
hmmm if it feels that good to unclog your nose with a shot of afrin, maybe its worth getting hooked on :)
 
that's really interesting. i am amazed that there is a chemical out there that your body develops a physical addiction to within 3 days. i wonder if there are any others like that?

people can be so lame. addiction is all the same, the details are just different. you have problem, you find stupid solution that seems to work. i can deal with drug withdrawals. i actually like the shittiness you feel after taking speed. you wanna know where the real fun is. eat heaps off food, doesn't really matter what it is as long as you can shovel it in your face as fast as you possibly can. do this til you are in pain. puke. bliss

at least if you have a 'real' addiction, you are don't get treated like a total idiot. people can treat you like your stupid when thats usually far from the truth. people wouldn't take my pain seriously. you hear the most insensitive things.
you only get addicted to something if you get something out of it. therefore. addiction is all the same.

well I would pick a nice fat line of good coke over a squirt or 3 of some nasal spray... better yet put the coke in the nasal spray
 
Oxygen is the most addictive drug. The withdrawal symptoms are almost immediate. And nobody has ever survived going cold turkey.

Dude don't use afrin. Remember, it doesn'tt only constrict the blood vessels in your nose, but in your whole body too (it gets absorbed into your blood stream, naturally). After a while you get very weak, and your blood vessels are damaged severely. Also if you try to run a mile you'll notice your pulse will be high as fuck and you'll be exausted too.

I swited to nasacort aq, it's a corticosteroid, sort of like cortisone but it works a lot better.
 
^^ That sounds like a steaming brick of bullshit to me. I've been using afrin for almost 7 years now and I have not noticed the slighest deficiency in my physical ability. I always take my 2 biggest squirts of afrin right before I go work out. So, I call 'claims' on you.
 
yeah i used to do that too, because it's "easier" to work out when you can breathe better....but hmm let's see is it smart to work out while all your blood vessels are constricted and your heart needs to work 2x harder? Oh and imagine your blood vessels shrinking then expanding every day for 7 years - that doesn't go by without some sort of damage. Trust me, just try not using afrin for a week and you'll notice that you get less tired and feel more energetic. Ask any doctor what will happen to your heart after you use afrin for 7 years - if you're around 18, you probably won't have serious or permenant damage, but if you're around 40 and you refuse to quit afrin, you should be expecting a heart attack in the next couple of years.
