i've taken benzos on and off for years... mostly xanax. i probably take a few xanax 2-3 times a month for insomnia. never found it recreational, let alone habit-forming.
First off, you will not become addicted to Xanax if you "take a few pills" a month, same would go for just a week. Second off, benzodiazepines aren't supposed to be recreational (On the other hand, compared to nasal spray, its fucking ecstasy), however it is very theraputic for anxiety and insomnia issues. Finally, benzodiazepines are by far one of the most habit forming drugs, you are no exception. When you take benzodiazepines on a daily basis for anxiety, that relief alone is enough to get you to start taking them daily.
And to top this all off, if we don't consider alcohol a drug and consider barbs virtually non-existint (which they are), benzodiazepines produce the worse physical and mental w/d's and is well documented. You can
die from benzo w/d's. The physical withdrawls may last for years depending on how long you were taking them. Seizures, convulsions, DT's, tremor, extreme anxiety/paranoia, etc.
Yup, when it comes to addiction, Afrin is an innocent lil cute puppy compared to benzodiazepines. Symmetrical, it also pisses me off someone bitchs about nasal spray addiction cuz I have been through (and still struggling) that same dark place with benzos. 5 years straight on Klonopin, quit for 6 months but went right back cuz some of the physical w/d's would just not go away.
