Hey guy,

I'm a naturally kinda wired up high (Type A personality high achiever etcetc)- so when I bother to try I can go really well, probably is I lack discipline an tht source of conflict is not that hard to fix

But whether I'm wired up cause of exams, or got nothing to do I find it really hard to unwind and relax. There's the gym which I've taken very serious I was 15% bf 60kg now 10% at 90kg over years of dedication but I feel like I want something more.

I started freaking over my exams and my doc gave me all these xanax and zopiclomne to help me sleep which is great because a good nights sleep = a good gym work out = good study done for the day = less likely to need drugs

BUT when I just lie and chill in bed to listen to music, talk to you guys, buy stuff; any random shit on the net I find an element of frustration attached to it. I took 0.25mg of xanax and I feel much much more calmer and almost feel prepared to do the things I've been meaning to do on the internet that I hold off

Any ideas to have that nice feeling on xanax, but not on it haha? I dont want a high I just dont want to feel frustrated, annoying, irratable and therefor less likely to do something productive

The most effective anxiety drugs are usually the most addictive...

Try chamomile tincture or tea.

Moving this to Other Drugs.

meditation and biofeedback come to mind.

But on a real level, you can try L-Theanine, Valerian Root, or Kava Kava.

You can't replicate the effects of benzodiazepines without using them or some similar drugs. If you could just focus hard enough and magically replicate the effects of Xanax then it would be indistinguishable from placebo. The idea that you can switch neuroreceptors on and off at will, all with the omnipotent ability of one's mind alone, is an incredibly stupid and idealistic precept. It tacitly assumes that drugs do nothing special to the brain that it cannot be merely forced into doing on its on.

If meditation, yoga, exercise, imagination, etc. could be used to replicate the effects of drugs, they'd most likely be as addictive and/or illegal as the drug they replicate.

TM meditation was great for me, also ASMR.

but honestly nothing is going to make you feel exactly the same as benzos;l that's how you become addicted.
