My official jump off of suboxone was about nine days ago. In the mean time, I've been using loperamide, tapering down 1mg every day. I jumped from approximately .50mg of buprenorphine and landed on around 20mg of loperamide, which in my case was too much;constipation was horendous. Anyhow... I dose the loperamide in the evening several hours before bed to help with sleep, although I wake up sporatically, namely from any little discomfort, noise or lumen of sunlight that shines through the window, unlike I would when stable on buprenorphine. Albeit, any amount of sleep helps my mood and energy the following day.
I've been yawning and stretching constantly even after getting a quasi-decent nights rest, just to seek endorphin release or help what ever little remaining opioid that is in my brain attach to my receptors. As long as I'm using the loperamide, will these sensations continue? Or, will they go away with time as the buprenorphine slowly weasels its way out of my brain?
Do any of you think minus 1mg of loperamide a day is too quick of a taper for buprenorphine withdrawal? And what's more, at what dosage in your experience have you found it sufficient to stop taking the loperamide altogether?
