'huh?', 'do what?', and 'wuh?' are perfectly acceptable instead of "could you repeat that?'
"fixin' to" is used in place of "about to". "I'm fixin' to go into town".
I don't know if this is regional, but it gets on my fucking nerves. Adding 'son' to the end of a sentence to emphasizing it.
"Damn son!"
"Listen here, son!"
Fixin's are also something you dress a cheeseburger, etc with. Oh the cunfusion!
Really old folks in some sort of position of minor authority call me son... like, say, a guy running a shop downtown or something. "Can I help ya with somethin', son? Whatcha lookin' fer?"
Also everyone here refers to all forms of carbonated soft drinks as a "coke" regardless of whether or not it is actually a Coca-Cola.
