as people ask about pre/postloading frequently, i figured it would't be a bad idea to start a small reference thread. please avoid changing the direction of this thread before we have a page or two with receipes. it's quite pointless if i write down what i take and people start talking about something else in the next post ;)

as there are different approaches to pre/postloading i assume this thread will show newbies that it's most likely pointless to stress it too much (with (sometimes unnecessary) milligram amounts & precise timings/order that won't make that much of a difference, plus, as we all know, everyone reacts differently)


-PRE-

every morning, i take
- 1 vitamin pill (like centrum, but with a higher concentration & also cheaper)
- 2 fish oil softgels, ~1g total
- 2400mg piracetam (a nootropic med, see www.erowid.org under smart drugs)
- (& 3 grams of l-glutamine, but that's for bodybuilding purposes)

i have to add that i don't really roll anymore and take all of the above for general health purposes. if it was intended for preloading only, i wouldn't change much about it.


-POST-

5-6 hours after taking the first pill i eat
- one paxil (paroxetine hcl, an SSRI that is supposed to prevent neurotoxicity, see www.dancesafe.org) tablet, i think it's 10mg but i'm not sure. too stoned to pay a visit to the fridge and check. prozac is fine as well. i'm not 100% sure that i'm preventing damage by doing that, but as paxil is non-toxic nor addictive or anything else undesireable, why not? i keep the tab on me in case i don't get home where my tabs are.

once arrived at home, i take
- one magnesium tab which i usually take anyway in an attempt to reduce twitching legs. (magnesium is often used to prevent cramps, sore muscles, etc.)
- food - a power bar is lots of energy packed into something that doesn't take too long to eat. i know how it's almost impossible to eat in most cases, but a power bar (carbohydrates, protein, etc. intake) can be chewed down quickly, preferably with
- a few glasses of water. (hydration)
something not directly related to postloading would be
- a shower (gotta get rid of all that sweat and what not, plus it feels good) and
- a benzo of choice or ambien if it works, but getting rest is important as well. (obviously for getting sleep)

T-12hr : 400ui Vit E, 2 Vit B complex
T-4 hr : 500mg Vit C, 200ui Vit E, 100mg ALA, 2 Vit B complex
T-0.5hr : 500mg Vit C, 200mg ALA, 2 Vit B complex
T+3hr : 1g Vit C, 200ui Vit E, 150mg ALA, 4 Vit B complex
T+6~7hr : 1g Vit C, 100mg ALA, 4 Vit B complex, 40mg Prozac, 300mg Codeine

I also now have a shower when I get back, put on some comfortable clothes to sleep in/sit around and have a large glass of fruitjuce, sometimes with a couple of teaspoons of sugar in just to help replenish my body a bit.

I then start my 5HTP post loading regime which is :

T+15~18hr : 200mg
T+30 hr : 100mg
T+42hr : 100mg
T+54 : 50mg
T+66 : 50mg
Then 50mg every night for another 4 days before I go to sleep.
 
WHAT THA HELL is all this shit u guys are taking?-- the only thing I've ever doen before rolling is take vit- c and after- sleep and smoke weed and exercise to get that shit outta me which meakes u re-roll usually...haha- SOmeone please explain why you take all these things- and what they do for your body...
 
Preload:

My last meal before rolling I usually eat only fruits and vegetables, and maybe a protein shake. A good idea is to eat some carbs too for energy purposes.

A few hours prior to pilling:

1 centrum multivitamin
500mg chewable vitamin C
500mg time release vitamin C
400 IU vitamin E

During:

Another 500mg chewable vitamin C

I also usually get the Hall's Vitamin C things to suck on while I roll, also a source of vitamin C, although I don't know how much.

Post(usually about 5-6 hours after pill):

1 centrum multivitamin
500mg chewable vitamin C
500mg time release vitamin C
400 IU vitamin E
100mg 5-htp (also includes another 200mg of C and 25mg of B6)

I am considering adding 20mg of paxil to this if I can get some. I don't know if this is really necessary with the antioxidant protection and the 5-htp.


Then I will take another 100mg 5-htp before trying to sleep, then another in the morning. Also, another 100mg a day for a couple days after.
 
^^ Alpha Lipoic acid is a good antioxidant, but from memory is rapidly eliminated from the body.

I take the following every day:
1 multivitamin (Swisse Men's, in Australia, for those who care)
1600mg Piracetam
1 B-Complex (from Blackmores)
500mg Choline
300mg Moclobemide.

Preload
----------

Usually nothing, though occasionally I'll have a dissolvable antacid some 30-45 mins before hand if I have one on hand, so

(sometimes: T=-0:45 - antacid (mylanta))
T:=0:00 - pill, and (depending on tolerance) anywhere from 0 -4800mg of piracetam...
if I take piracetam I add 500mg choline as well.


T:=1:00 - 500mg Vitamin C, 500IU Vitamin E
T:=3:00 to 5:00 (somewhere in there) - 500mg Vitamin C, 500IU vitamin E
T:=Whenever im coming down - 100mg 5-HTP

as much magnesium as is necessary to stop cramping/clenching.

When i get home
----------------------
200mg 5-HTP
and 6mg melatonin if necessary, to sleep.

Some 6 hrs later, another 300mg moclobemide.

That evening, 100mg 5-HTP before I go to bed :)
and more melatonin (3mg)
I'm well aware of the potential for interaction between 5-HTP and moclobemide, and moclobemide and MDMA, but I'm sufficiently versed in moclobemide pharmacokinetics to have never had a problem :D

I DO NOT USE MOCLOBEMIDE TO POTENTIATE MDMA. THIS IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS.

daily:
Multivitamins 100% RDA
Omega 3 750mg, plus 500mg other
used to take lechitin too - but i run out now..

Post Load:
Energy drink like redbull, and a boost bar, reason is they both contains sugar, taurine, and extra vitamins - helps me get a grasp of my self..

BTW Infinity, have you had much success using piracetum, i know you have been taking it for a while now, and i am still considering it.

i can't really notice a difference as far as cognitive skills etc. go. as i said i have yet to roll w/ piracetam in my system (i started taking piracetam a few weeks after my last roll, which was on NYE)
 
so you are reaching the four month mark - i would like to see if there is a change in 6 months like it is recommend to compare...

did you do any form of test before you started taking? or is it only on the basis on what you actually notice?
 
nah i'm at 2 months now.. the second pack is out. anyway, let's not get too off-topic ;)

i didn't do any specific tests - i figured that if it's not even noticeable (i'm a very aware person), it simply doesn't work for me.

thats a lot of 5htp .. id question whether you really need that much .. especially on the pre-load ..
 
I've found the effects of piracetam quite noticeably, especially with concurrent choline supplementation

Have to ask how many pills do you take?? how long do your sessions last??
 
This is a little off topic but I thought I read somewhere that you have to take your 5 HTP on an empty stomach in order for it to be converted to serotonin. Is this right? Say an hour before eating? Wouldn't be a problem for post loading but it might make a difference for preloading.

And a question for Velocide, my fellow Aussie, is all the stuff you take available over the counter? I thought you need a prescription for melatonin?
 
another question for math tinder .. consumption of 400mg of 5htp as u specify before taking any xtc .. doesnt that have any drowsy effects on you?
 
'Several' tablets/capsules each of vitamin E and vitamin C 30-60 minutes in advance, one capsule of 5-htp when I come down, another capsule of 5-HTP the next day. The best pre- and post- load IMO is time...take plenty of time to recover between usages.
