Its starting to become problematic. My dreams are so vivid and so real that I sometimes believe that they are true. I am getting a good night's rest but still the dreams are affecting how I feel the morning when I wake up. Is there something wrong with that or is it normal to have the same recurring dream?

I will say,,, I'm pretty darn good at dream interpretation... do you mind going into details, here or through PM W/O any of your own insights, until after?

You can't be embarrassed, if you are... ill share some details about potentially embarrassing recurring dreams I have

;)

im from the 'no one but yourself can interpret dreams' group, there is just so many meaning that one can attribute to something.

for instance a reoccurring dream about monkeys will have SEVERE differences in significance and meaning if the person dreaming the dream was, viscously attacked by a monkey, as opposed to someone who owned a dearly loved pet monkey.
of course some people are very good at seeing underlying themes when others may not, so no offense intended PiP(you should have a shot at my Sleep Paralysis episode that left me shaken BADLY)

anyway regarding your issue, i guess you got to figure out what is bothering you, if i was you, i would keep a dream journal, when ever you awake from a dream right it down straight away, this is a basic step into the realm of lucid dreaming, im not saying start practicing lucid dreaming(but that might help you, giving you some control over the dream), but it will give you a better hold on what is going on in your dreams and could help.
being as it is reoccurring you most likely have a good grasp already, then I would look into sleep patterns, diet, room conditions etc dreams only bother you when you remember them, either way you got to work something out....

sure dreams can be a mash of instances of senseless visions, and you may only actually dream for a couple of minutes but it seems like the entire night. BUT your sub conscience plays out what you look past in your waking hours, or what you may really be thinking about any situation you are not allowing to be acknowledged knowingly and cognitively.

these thoughts or feelings have to be processed some how, and in a state where you have no control over your thoughts, anything can come out in some sort of associative familiar form.

sometimes the honest answer to a troubling situation...
