Fucking love those :) The fight scene in "Old Boy" (you know the one) is definitely the best fight scene I've ever witnessed.
I've prolly posted a yootoob link to it on here a few times. Apparently quite a few of the actors gained broken bones and what not.
Arrrggg!!!! What a film!!!!

I've been watching the 9pm films on Film4 the past couple of days, and both "The Lovely Bones" and "A Time To Kill" are absolutely fucking ace.

I thought "The Lovely Bones" was going to be some sappy, "chick-flick" type film but how wrong I was. Need to get the book.
And "A Time To Kill" is such a good film that I would also love to read the book of. Sometimes it's a mistake to make a film out of a book but, in these two examples, it's definitely not.

Do you have a link to a version with English subtitles? All I can find is the crappy dubbed version and I can't stand it!

yep, I PM'd you as i don't think BL will like me posting that link.

Watched Super.8.2011.DVDSCR.XViD-TARD too, was alittle better than I exxpected although not as good as the average review.

I've not seen 'A Time to Kill' so might check it out. 'The Lovely Bones' was fairly good, although not great - but I guess how good/re-watchable can a film be with that kind of dark story line?

I think if Super 8 had come out in the 80s it would have been a huge success, but we've moved on and Spielberg is becoming old hat.

Monsta, are you sure about this film recommendation mate? It seems like a bunch of Japanese people running around in nappies being sliced and diced lol.

Haha =D
There's a definite comedy element to it, but it's the classic Japanese legend of the blind Samurai basically. Plus the soundtrack's ace :)
In a word or three - Yes. I'm sure ;)

Anyone seen funky monks? its the red hot chilli peppers documentary ( i know not a film) where they recorded Blood Sugar. Its in "The Mansion" which is supposedly haunted... Its a great watch

just looked it up and bought it off amazon =D cheers mate

Ay up ColtDan :) Might just be me being a duhface but I don't think I've seen you about in a fair while, good to do so!
Hope yer well mate :)

hello =D been posting quite a lot recently dont think ive seen you about either though! yeah mate all good thanks :) hows life?

The other 2 in the vengeance triliogy aren't a patch on OldBoy, I don't really remember much about them tbh. Recorded Time To Kill last night as haven't seen it, I should check out Film4 more often seems like a lot of great films.

Hmm, I've just watched 'A Room For Romeo Brass'. Seen more convincing Nativity plays. Lousy performances all round, poor casting, dreary music, simplistic plot, blah blah.

Good film : The Adjuster (Atom Egoyan)

I can't think of that many films that can compete with Oldboy. I just had to watch the other 2 in the trilogy as if they were completely unrelated films, and they are still definitely worth a watch.

Drive

Anyone going to the flicks this weekend, and not sure what to watch,
go see this -----> Drive [IMDB]

images

---> Trailer

It's character driven action, and I haven't seen a movie this good in years. It's an 18 too, pretty brutal and hard to look at the screen sometimes, but Ryan Gosling is sublime. has Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad in it too

Music score is Cliff Martinez, and one of the best I've heard in ages.

Could go on about it for ages, but I'll resist the urge to ramble. It gets an 8/10 from me

Overall it's a totally unique and original, highly stylised, character driven action flick - think 80's Michael Mann [Miami Vice & Manhunter style] and David Lynch [Lost Highway/Mulholland Drive era] - a minimal script, fucking phenomenal score from Cliff Martinez, bucket loads of viscous brutality, but with a fuckton of heart and soul underneath it all.

It's the movie equivalent of being made to sit in a room with someone you don't quite know, but have to keep eye-contact with for 2 hours without being able to look away.

awesome stuffs

anyone else see it?

wanna know what other peeps think about it, cos I dont think i'll be alone in loving it

<3
