Watched The Social Network last night. Thought it was very good no matter how much Jesse Eisenberg annoy's the fuck out of me

I read about this a good while & kept my eye out for it & wasn't disappointed. I haven't seen the original & will no doubt get stick for it being better blah blah blah, but I'd still recommend it. One reason alone is because it was the original director who did this version as well & he's not gonna make a rip roaring cunt of it is he? :D
This would be a good idea, except when it isn't. Exhibit A being THE VANISHING versions 1 and 2. The Dutch original directed by George Sluizer is about the only adaptation of a book that adds to the source novel I have seen and is great and not in English for all subtitles lovers. Version 2 was remade by George Sluizer and some hollywood cunts made him sell his soul. It is pretty much the best example of quality film turned to shit american wank I know. And it takes one of the best endings ever and rapes it, then shits in its mouth:|

Yes for sure and ALICE IN THE CITIES, KINGS OF THE ROAD and WINGS OF DESIRE are all other great Wim Wenders films.

Just finished watching Black Swan. Was alright.. not outstanding from the hype its been getting. 8.9 on IMDB?

Animal Kingdom was my No1 for 2010.

Dunno if it's been mentioned already but just watched The Human Centipede (First Sequence) - reviews, trailer, etc.. Been meaning to watch it since I first heard the plot...

A mad scientist kidnaps and mutilates a trio of tourists in order to "reassemble" them into a new "pet"-- a human centipede, created by stitching their mouths to each others' rectums.

Medical opinion opines that such a thing would be technically feasible too - you'd wanna be the head end, to be honest... Hardly a masterpiece but hilariously nasty =D

PTCH: Thanks for reminding me of Enter The Void - got it downloading now :)

Cleets: You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself. The original Tzameti is a masterpiece. The remake has Arfur Dollar in it :\

^You're telling me to ashamed of myself because I thought a remade film was quite good?

Look sunshine, I'm not the one talking about a movie where a scientist is stitching people's mouths to others' rectums. My feet are solidly placed on the moral high ground just now. Have a fucking word with yourself man! =D

Inception was shite watched it the other day:

1) Far, far too much dialogue.

2) Complicated doesn't mean intelligent. It was just needlessly complex. The film could have been an hour shorter and not lost anything.

3) If you're going to make a film about dreams, you have a chance to make a film that's beautiful, surreal, and mind bendingly weird (not just mind bendingly convoluted). This dream machine makes people have the most boring dreams ever. The limbo visuals were OK, I suppose. Nolan must just dream about walking around generic cityscapes talking reams of unnecessary dialogue. I went in expecting a film about dreams and ended up watching a heist film in a frock.

5) Everyone talks like they have a 300 IQ. Everyone has a plan for everything, just like in The Dark Knight. Everyone spends ages droning on about the details of said plans (Refer to point 1)

Oddly enough I fancied something mindless to watch t'other day and also watched Inception. I agree with pretty much everything you said. Utter bilge.

Cleets: THC makes no bones about being pure B-movie filth. 13 is pure cycnicism pissing on the memory of one of the best films I've seen in years. Will probably still watch it at some point just to see how badly he managed to ruin his own film though just cos I'm a bit morbid like that. Would highly recommend watching the original to cleanse your dirtied soul though ;)

Damnation aside, it really is worth watching the original. The twist may not work now (unless he changed that too) but the B&W cinematography alone is worth the price of admission. It looks stunning and is soooo atmospheric. I'm guessing the remake is in colour which would just kill the atmosphere the original had.

/film snobbery

;)

Got snout else to do so am downloading the abomination now. I'm sure it's likely a decent stab at making it acceptable to Yanks but the original isn't trying to be acceptable - it aims for excellence and achieves it in abundance. Will slag it off properly give it a fair chance and maybe even eat my words later ;)

I thought Inception was pretty decent when I saw at the cinema a while back.

I've got bounded by blood downloaded for tonight, and the social network.

Anyone seen either of them?

Thought The Social Network was very good even thought I can't stand Jesse Eisenberg.

Just watched 13 Tzameti a few hours ago. Thought it wasn't bad.. could picture the yank version being well dire though.

Social Network is actually a great film. I thought it would be shite but I was wrong.

Bonded By Blood sounds OK but I don't think I could hack yet another film based around that same story. That's got to be at least 3 or 4 now.

I just watched RED. Not bad, decent action movie, nothing too incredible but worth a watch.
