Some cunt nicked my Bad lieutenant vhs years ago and I've never managed to watch the region 1 dvd. Did however see it went in came out at the cinema which included a version of Led Zep's Kashmir and may have more drug stuff in.
One of my favourite films ever.

I have to admit that the concept of remaking it is VERY strange. On the one hand Hertzog has made some fucking amazing work and is invulnerable to criticism....
On the other hand it takes the title and adds Nicholas GAGG! It is supposed to be highly different, and if it didn't have the gagg baggage I could see they could make a new film about a corrupt new orleans cop. I reckon it has a chance of being better than average, because they have such material (including real new Orleans history) to work with. Just should have changed the title and got fucking JASON STATHAM!hahahahahahahaa.

After seeing Crank my whole view on Statham went 180%. I am soon to be watching Crank : High Voltage....and maybe on the drone!
 
DVD screeners are available for the bad lieutenant remake already. Even the poster looks pish

I think the newer DVD version has all the drug taking back in but is still without Schooly D - Signifying Rapper because of its unlicensed use of that Kashmir sample. I think I prefer the newer soundtrack if I'm honest

The song was replaced by a recording of an original Ferrara composition called "Bad Lieutenant" recorded on a cassette Walkman and performed live at a late night jam session by Ferrara and Paul Hipp (who also appears as Jesus Christ in the film).

it has more of a grim ambient feel which lends itself well to the mood of the film.

edit: p_c that poster is fucking abysmal, might have to get pissed with some mates and see how shit the new version is tonight now hah
 
Double fuck me! Its Ghostrider takes NOLA! I suggest watching it after 10 days up on MDPV and desoxy..........If you can make it through even after all that then you're a very strong willed person. Also 99% of the world wouldn't have made it and we'd have a nice deal-able world population!
Show that fucking film in EVERY cinema in the world!

PS I still wanna fuck Mendes.......but there are better women out there and I will prevail!

Thats some long-ass film If you full-bore the lot. Used to have 1st series till it was nicked off me:o
Assuming the episodes are all 1 hour long (although at least 1 is 90 and they might all be 45 mins to fit in ad breaks so I don't know ) however.....I tempororarily came up with 100 hours8o. This could be way off. Although the 1st season is wall to wall commentaries so thats double your money. I suspect McFly you have me convinced. Although I would rather have all of 6 feet under, but they don't do special deals on that lot...yet.(edit..they do and its next on the list)

I would like to advise you that I have just bought it 2nd hand on the amazon market place for £44.50 with £1.21 postage, so if that person selling is you McFly then you have now got my cash.

I will see it on dvd after rewatching the first one as its one of my favourite films of the decade. Fucking cold, black, grimness.
Horror sites have given it decent reviews, saying that as long as you can swallow all sorts of idiocy, then its an ok horror flic.
Whereas I think the Guardian tramped all over it, stating the fact that :
1. It obliterates the original uk cut ending:|
2. Has loads of idiotic moments.
3. Goes so far as to get the girl who obviously in the US version was rescued:X to lead a trip back underground on a rescue mission, even though she has total amnesia of the event and any shock is likely to fuck her up good and proper.....a great tour guide, eh:|
But the first is almost perfect, if only it didn't have
1. the audacity to pretend to be set in the US, even though its filmed in Scotland, with Scottish and English people +1 American
2.Didn't have monsters that look like Gollum:\
 
Yeah I enjoyed the first one aswell - like you say was a great horror flick. I think I may pop along and watch it as I dont mind stupid horrors, mind you went to see that Paranormal Activity thing the other night and was glad when it was finished. I thought it was rubbish, hyped up to the max and all the 'scary bits' had been shown as trailers anyway.
 
Not seen anything from Paranormal Activity, but will watch on dvd alone in the dark on a windy night. I did that with The Orphanage and it got me totally, now I love that film...always the best way for films that are scary is to fuck them off at the cinema and watch alone in a dark horrible house without knowing much about them. This is why I love Ringu so much, if I had known about what happened then I wouldn't rate it so highly....on the other hand watched Ju-On - The Grudge at 8am on GBL in April 2005 and was not scared at all. Have seen the 4th Japanese film and its better, seen the first US remake and liked it surprisingly. Have JU-On The Curse on Divx to watch at somepoint.
I should go on about J-horror and K-horror at some point as have seen quite a few.
 
The Descent was a load of bollocks. I predict the second one will be an even bigger load of bollocks.

Nah, i aint that bad as to pimp my own warez man :) Just spreading the word on a amazing deal for a stupendous series which is better than (Often mention/loved) The Wire with more humour, more grit and more action. I think each one is 45 minutes long with as you said some feature length episodes and i fucking love it!
 
Has anyone watched 'Jacob's ladder'? I watched it a couple of nights ago. I wasn't giving it my full attention, to be honest, but it was still quite good.

Anyway about Jacobs Ladder, I have seen it a few times. The first time I loved it until the end where the rug is pulled out from under the viewer and it pissed me off for years. However everytime a new person mentioned the film I'd end up talking to them for a while about it.
I've seen it maybe 4 times, but not for a few years.
I like the way its about MK-ultra stuff, and I also like the other stuff, but I don't ever feel like it really works properly.

I'd still give it a high rating.

I'm not gonna lie, I only watched it cuz Nora-Jane Noone's in it. But tbh I just found all the characters really annoying, and they seemed a pretty unlikely group of friends to me. The acting was especially dire, and the end was one of those "pfffffft!" kinda moments.

My one rare claim to fame was I was baptised and my mothers funeral was in this small church in my home town in texas. It was a converted bank that Bonnie and Clyde robbed. Still has the bullet holes in the walls. Roby got to see it.
