more carpenter goodness from me

JC doesn't rule for life. He's fucked up way too many times.
I think he's forgotten everything he ever learned.
Dark Star - Good
Assault on Precinct 13 - Very Good
Halloween - Classic
The Fog - Decent
Escape from New York - Classic
The Thing - Best thing ever
Christine - Oh dear
Starman - Liked it when I was a kid....
Big Trouble in Little China - So stupid, might have to watch on drugs 1 day.
Prince of Darkness - Overrated
They Live - Roddy Piper = awful, Meg Foster = Rough as a bears arse, Plot = NO
Memoirs of shit - Oh dear
In the mouth of Madness - Rather better
Village of the Damned - Oh dear
Escape from LA - FUCK OFF CUNT
Vampires - not seen
Ghosts of Mars - FUCK OFF CUNT

In summation, I believe that John Carpenter must have been at Michael Jacksons stash. Christine is ok,but a shit story which I can blame on Stephen King.I suspect that he must have been drinking very heavily after Starman and then hit Jackos stash after They Live. Probably on 100mg Xanax a day now:|

i recently watched The Hangover, its side splitting and its got a good story to it, considering its a comedy. Basically they set off to vegas, for a stag do and get fucked up. The next morning they cant find the guy who is getting married and they have no recollection of the previous night and its like an easter egghunt trying to find the missing guy.

Paris, je t'aime.

A wonderful film, rich in comedy, romance and dirty frenchness. It has made me, somewhat childishly considering my almost complete lack of understanding of the language (despite my A in GCSE French earnt at some point) want to visit the place.

Reverting to film-related subjectry, if you can concentrate on the subtitles for 2 hours, I recommend it. Lack of understanding of our frog-eating neighbours to the East is no hinderance, the lack of subtitling in places serves as much to enhance the experience of being a foreigner as to confuse.

Also watch Dreamland, that film is also melancholicly excellent.

Requim for a dream

i was messed up on some shit pills when i first saw the film but i saw it a week later and loved it.

About 3 people that take heroin and how each of their lives unfold. Each one has a different ending(spolier).

There is a scene where the mother goes through some really strange scenario and it is really powerful.

And the music is fucking epic!! check it out!!

That's the one where 20 different directors make a short scene about love in Paris isn't it?

That's a really cool film, I loed it. Recommended it ages ago.

There were subtitles all the way through when I watched it though.

Dogtown and Z-Boys (2001) is a documentary about the history of skateboarding. It won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Using a mix of film of the Zephyr skateboard team shot in the 1970s by Craig Stecyk and more recent interviews, the documentary tells the story of a group of teenage surfer/skateboarders and their influence on the history of skateboarding (and to a lesser extent surfing) culture. It is narrated by Sean Penn and directed by Stacy Peralta.

Much of the archival footage used in the film came from teenagers who wanted to be a part of the Z-Boys group but were not good enough skateboarders so they got to be a part of the Z-Boys group by filming and photographing them.

The film's $400,000 budget was financed by Vans, Inc., whose skateboarding shoes Stacy Peralta had been paid to endorse during his days as a professional skateboarder.

Dogtown is the nickname of a portion of "the Santa Monica, California area that Pacific Ocean Park bridge. Jeff Ho's shop was on the corner of Bay and Main, right next to where the Horizons West shop founded by Z-Boy Nathan Pratt currently exists.

The Z-Boy story was also made into a feature film, Lords of Dogtown, in late 2005.

I know its been mentioned before but A Beautiful Mind with Russel Crowe putting in an amazing performance is a great film. Its a great story, made better by it being based on a true story. The direction was great, the screenplay was great, and the acting was top notch all round. Not a bad word to say about it at all. Watching it a second time or third is also great because you can pick up on things that you would have previously missed on the first watch.

Its most definitely in my top five films list. :)

A grieving couple retreat to 'Eden', their isolated cabin in the woods after a catastrophic incident. There, they hope to repair their broken hearts and troubled marriage. But nature takes its course and things go from bad to worse... A bravura piece of filmmaking from celebrated director von Trier (BREAKING THE WAVES, DOGVILLE), ANTICHRIST caused something of a furore at Cannes for its audacious approach to the horror genre. Certainly not for the faint hearted, at its core lie some striking visuals (courtesy of Anthony Dod Mantle, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) and two fiercely committed performances from Dafoe (THE WALKER) and Gainsbourg (THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP), who deservedly won the Cannes Best Actress prize. This is a film that simply demands to be seen.

This film is FUCKED UP. It's grim, it's freaky, it's terrifying, it's brutal, it's twisted, it's perverted but it's also very stylish and superbly shot and it's a definite must see for all you perverted bastards (thinking you Shambles ;)). I felt a bit sick watching parts of it because its so gory and brutal. Some rather disturbed sex scenes too. :D
