I pay £15 a month for my lovefilm subscription may as well use it. :)

Would never watch a film on a PC monitor anyway.

I can't remember whether or not I've already recommended this film, but I think it's very good. It's both moving and funny :)

Angela's Ashes

Based on the best selling autobiography by Irish expat Frank McCourt, Angela's Ashes follows the experiences of young Frankie and his family as they try against all odds to escape the poverty endemic in the slums of pre-war Limerick. The film opens with the family in Brooklyn, but following the death of one of Frankie's siblings, they return home, only to find the situation there even worse. Prejudice against Frankie's Northern Irish father makes his search for employment in the Republic difficult despite his having fought for the IRA, and when he does find money, he spends the money on drink.

Little Soldier

35847l.jpg

A soldier with a violent temper returns from war, and takes a job ferrying call girls to meet their clients – plus providing protective muscle should the need arise. Things are complicated by the fact that the soldier in question is a woman, and the pimp in charge her father... This uncompromising and moving study of relationships under strain is brilliantly handled by acclaimed Danish director Annette K Olesen (Minor Mishaps; In Your Hands).

The don of all gangster films, Mesrine: Killer Instinct

20081028_mesrine_actu.jpg

Mesrine (Vincent Cassel) returns home from the army and embarks upon a life of violent crime. Expertly handled by director Jean-François Richet, this is the first half of a double bill of epic proportions, executed with an explosive flair and a brutal realism that Hollywood can only dream of. Gérard Depardieu excels as grotesque mob boss Guido, but it’s the dangerous, unpredictable charisma that Cassel brings to the central role that mesmerises.

This is the best film I've seen in a long time (years?) and I think it definitely rates up there with the best of the best when it comes to gangster films. Absolutely cool as fuck, seriously stylish and brilliantly brutal. %)

And this is only part 1. Can't wait to see part 2 tomorrow! <3

laptop plugged in to hdtv. £5er a month for this rapidshare patter some1 recently turned me on to, even with my shitty speed broadband i can download a film in around 1 hour. so by the time you've watched one film there's another one good to go

Newsgroups ftw. Blueray in under 10/15 mins :D

Regarding films, not a film persay, but just got the Faithless concert DVD. Awesome.

Pure headfuck, cant really figure it out, but I do like it, its not half as good as Eternal, or Adaptation thought IMO.
